Newcastle face Everton in the Premier League, with a draw predicted as the main tip due to both teams' inconsistent form and evenly matched performances this season. The article suggests a 1-1 draw as a possible correct score, reflecting the difficulty in separating the two sides based on recent results. The recommendation is based on the lack of clear superiority from either Newcastle or Everton, making a draw the most likely outcome.

Newcastle vs Everton Preview

Newcastle pick up Premier League points at St James’ Park and Everton draw plenty on the road. A draw is tipped between these mid-table sides.

Key Stats - Toffees Draw on the Road

  • Newcastle are unbeaten in 6 of their last 7 home games.
  • Newcastle are unbeaten in 4 of their last 7 home matches against Everton.
  • Everton have drawn 3 of their last 4 away games.

H2H

Everton have a 79-72 advantage against Newcastle, alongside 38 draws.

Newcastle Hard to Beat at Home

Newcastle went unbeaten in seven of their opening eight matches in the 2026/27 campaign. The Toon drew and won twice at home in that period.

The Magpies beat Hull 2-1 in their most recent home victory. Back-to-back losses against Coventry 4-1 and Aston Villa 1-0 followed before a 2-0 win at Crystal Palace.

Matthias Jaissle’s side were knocked out of the EFL Cup on Thursday after a 3-1 loss at Everton. Newcastle had 2.14-1.67 XG, conceded three and Dan Burn scored an 88th-minute consolation.

Everton Are Away Draw Specialists

David Moyes’ Everton have failed to win in six of their last seven Premier League matches. They have drawn four in that run.

The Toffees drew three matches in a row, including away stalemates at Bournemouth 1-1 and Tottenham 0-0. Everton ended that streak with a 1-0 home win over Ipswich before drawing 2-2 at Hull.

Moyes’ outfit have lost their previous two league games. A 2-0 home defeat to Chelsea came before a 2-0 loss at Arsenal.

The Merseyside team hit back with a 3-1 home triumph against Newcastle in the EFL Cup fourth round. James Garner and Hayden Hackney scored in the first half and Thierno Barry added a third on 69 minutes.

Predicted Starting Lineups & Team News

Newcastle (4-2-3-1): Lukas Hornicek; Amar Dedic, Malick Thiaw, Sven Botman, Lewis Hall; Nico Gonzalez, Joelinton; Jacob Murphy, Joe Willock, Harvey Barnes; Yoane Wissa

Forward Matias Fernandez-Pardo and defender Lewis Miley are injury doubts. Full-back Tino Livramento is unavailable with a long-term knee issue.

William Osula came off injured at Everton and is doubtful here. Matthias Jaissle issued an update on the striker’s injury and said, “Will Osula was not able to continue; he twisted his ankle.”

Everton (4-2-3-1): Jordan Pickford; Ainsley Maitland-Niles, James Tarkowski,Jarrad Branthwaite, Vitali Mykolenko; Harrison Armstrong, James Garner; Brennan Johnson, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Tyrique George; Thierno Barry

Everton have no injuries ahead of the Newcastle clash. Winger Jack Grealish was unavailable on Thursday “due to a breach of club discipline” and could miss out again here.

Verdict

Newcastle and Everton are in similar, inconsistent Premier League form this season. There’s little between these well-matched sides and a draw is predicted.
