Kruger United Super in Second Tier last season


Kruger United won the First Division last season by eight points. They were beaten just once in their final 14 matches (nine wins, four draws).

After five straight wins, they made it six successive victories as they beat Black Leopards 3-1. That victory officially secured their place in the top flight. 

A 1-0 win at Gomora United followed. On the final day, they drew 2-2 at home vs The Bees. 

Chiefs looking to build on Promising season


Chiefs finished third last season after seven wins in their final 12 matches.  Third place and a spot in the CAF Confederations Cup was not enough to save their co-coaches, as Fernanda Da Cruz has taken over.

A physical 1-1 draw vs Orlando Pirates was followed by a 2-0 loss at Siwelele. Chiefs drew 1-1 at Mamelodi Sundowns and won 2-0 at Sekhuhkune United in a strong display.

A 1-0 win at AmaZulu was followed by a 1-0 defeat to Chippa United on the final day. Amakhosi selected a number of young players to start that match.

Kruger United (5-4-1): Ntwari; Mukumela, Letlabika, Mngonyama, Mohamme, Langa; Zwane, Nel, Matima, Sereetsi; Sibanyoni.

Kruger United have signed a number of vastly experienced PSL defenders, including Kwanda Mngonyama and Katlego Mohamme. 

Fiacre Ntwari is set to start in goal against his parent club. Physical forward Thabang Sibanyoni looks set to lead the line. 

Kaizer Chiefs (4-2-3-1): Petersen; Monyane, Miguel, Cross, Frosler; Maboe, Mtasingwa; Vilakazi, Chislett, Duba; Da Silva.

Chiefs are set to sell last season’s top attacker in Glody Lilepo. Mduduzi Shabalala is still absent after undergoing shoulder surgery. 

Rushwin Dortley is injured in defence and Aden McCarthy has been sold. Given Msimango may be left out as he nears a move to Stellenbosch.
