Athletic Bilbao are having a good start to the new La Liga campaign, grabbing nine points in four rounds and currently sit in 2nd place. 

The Basque side earned three victories in a row, beating Sevilla 3-2, Rayo Vallecano 1-0 and Real Betis 2-1, Nico Williams scoring one goal and registering two assists in these matches. 

Despite having 1.07-0.08 expected goals, 58% possession and 12-4 shots, they were beaten in fourth round last weekend by Deportivo Alaves.

Arsenal kicked off the new Premier League campaign by defeating their archrival Manchester United 1-0 at Old Trafford, Riccardo Calafiori finding the net in the 13th minute. 

The Gunners made it two in a row one week later by demolishing Leeds 5-0 in London, Jurrien Timber and Viktor Gyokeres scoring two goals each, Bukayo Saka also on target.  

After an unfortunate 1-0 loss at Anfield to Liverpool, Mikel Arteta’s side bounced back last weekend with a 3-0 commanding win over Nottm Forest at home. Martin Zubimendi starred with two goals, Gyokeres also on target.

One of Bilbao’s key players Nico Williams will miss this match due to an adductor injury, joining Unai Egiluz, Inigo Lekue, Benat Prados and Yeray Alvarez on the sidelines. 

Arsenal’s captain Martin Odegaard has suffered a shoulder injury against Nottm Forest and will most likely sit out. Christian Norgaard, Kai Havertz, Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus are also injured.
