  • Liverpool have won 2 consecutive away games.
  • Liverpool have seen over 2.5 goals in 2 of their last 3 matches.

H2H - Reds Strength

Liverpool have a 2-0 advantage against LASK in two previous meetings.

LASK Lacking Form and Shipping Goals

LASK are in patchy long-term form and are winless in five of their last 10 fixtures. The Austrian outfit qualified for the Champions League after an 5-4 aggregate win over Celtic, including a 3-0 first-leg loss.

The Black and Whites also lost their opening Champions League group stage match 1-0 at AEK Athens. LASK then lost 2-1 at Sturm Graz, drew 3-3 against Hartberg and beat First Vienna 2-1 in a friendly.

Dietmar Kuhbauer’s side remain winless in their last four competitive games after a 2-0 defeat against SK Rapid. LASK allowed 2.33 XG, faced five shots on target and conceded two second-half goals.

Liverpool Will Want a Response After City Loss

Andoni Iraola’s Liverpool are a hard-to-beat team after going undefeated in nine of their previous 10 matches.

The Reds were in good form before the international break, winning four of five matches. That run started with wins over Ipswich 2-0 and Atletico Madrid 2-1 and a 0-0 home draw with Fulham.

Liverpool responded to the Fulham draw with conseucitve victories against Tottenham 3-1 and Bournemouth 1-0. Iraola’s side had 1.85 and 1.65 XG in those wins.

The Merseysiders lost for the first time this season after a 3-0 home defeat to Man City on Sunday. Liverpool had 13 shots before Ryan Gravenberch was sent off and City scored three goals in the final 25 minutes.

Predicted Starting Lineups & Team News

LASK (3-4-1-2): Lukas Jungwirth; Xavier Mbuyamba, Joao Tornich, Andres Andrade; Kasper Molgaard Jorgensen, Melayro Bogarde, Robert Ljubicic, Yvan Dibango; Sascha Horvath; Sasa Kalajdzic, Christoph Lang

Attacker Ramiz Harakate is ruled out with a long-term knee injury.

Liverpool (4-2-3-1): Alisson; Ronald Araujo, Jeremy Jacquet, Virgil van Dijk, Milos Kerkez; Ryan Gravenberch, Alexis Mac Allister; Rio Ngumoha, Florian Wirtz, Bradley Barcola; Lewis Koumas

Attacking duo Cody Gakpo and Alexander Isak are unlikely to feature due to injury. Defenders Conor Bradley and Geovani Leoni and striker Hugo Ekitike are out with long-term injuries.

Dominik Szoboszlai missed the Man City game with a hamstring issue and is expected to miss out against LASK. Andoni Iraola provided more detail on the midfielder’s injury and said:

"Dom came from the national team (with) tiredness (and) overload. We put him as a floater in the training session, try to protect him, but he was not feeling (perfect).”

Verdict

LASK are lacking any sort of form and the Austrians have been leaky in defence. Liverpool are decent on the road and can get amongst the goals in a likely away victory.
