A competitive field of the world's best players converge at the iconic Torrey Pines golf course to compete for the Farmers Insurance Open title this weekend. Who will walk away with the honours come Sunday?

Harris English returns to Torrey Pines to defend his title after a one-stroke victory over Sam Stevens in 2025.

Players alternate between the South and North courses for rounds one and two, with the South course used for the remaining two rounds.

These are our four selections that could win the title this weekend.

Cameron Young

Cameron Young has been performing at his best on the PGA Tour in his last six starts, winning the Wyndham Championship and placing 5th at the FedEx St. Jude Championship, 11th at the BMW Championship, T4 at the Tour Championship, T9 at the Procore Championship, and 10th at the Hero World Challenge.

Other notable results achieved by Young last season include a T8 at the Sentry, a T12 at the WM Phoenix Open, a T18 at the Valero Texas Open, a T7 at the Truist Championship, a T25 at the Memorial Tournament, a T4 at the RBC Canadian Open, and a T4 at the U.S. Open.

The 28-year-old has featured twice at the Farmers Insurance Open, missing the cut in 2021 before finishing T20 in 2022.

Young has been in great shape lately and will fancy his chances to come out on top in San Diego this weekend.

Si Woo Kim

Si Woo Kim has been in fine form on the PGA Tour and DP World Tour since mid-September, placing T5 at the BMW PGA Championship, T20 at the Baycurrent Classic, T21 at the Genesis Championship, T4 at the RSM Classic, 3rd at the Crown Australian Open, T11 at the Sony Open in Hawaii, and T6 at the American Express last weekend.

Other prominent performances recorded by Si Woo Kim last season include 12th at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, a T21 at the WM Phoenix Open, a T24 at the Genesis Invitational, a T19 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, a T8 at the RBC Heritage, a T15 at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson, a T17 at the Truist Championship, a T8 at the PGA Championship, a T14 at the FedEx St. Jude Championship, and a T19 at the BMW Championship.

The three-time PGA Tour winner has made eight appearances at the Farmers Insurance Open, finishing T18 in 2016, WD in 2017, T35 in 2018, T29 in 2019, MC in 2021, T11 in 2022, T25 in 2023, and MC in 2025.

Si Woo Kim has the form to go all the way and lift the winner's trophy at Torrey Pines this weekend.

Ryan Gerard

Ryan Gerard has been in fine form on the DP World Tour and PGA Tour lately, placing 2nd at the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open, 2nd at the Sony Open in Hawaii, and T2 at the American Express.

Other noteworthy results achieved by Gerard in 2025 include a T17 at the Mexico Open, a T25 at the Cognizant Classic, a 9th at the Texas Children's Houston Open, a 2nd at the Valero Texas Open, a T12 at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, a T8 at the PGA Championship, a T23 at the Memorial Tournament, and a victory at the Barracuda Championship.

The American golfer finished T15 overall at the Farmers Insurance Open on debut last year.

Gerard has found form and could upstage the others at Torrey Pines this weekend.

Garrick Higgo

Garrick Higgo has been ultra-consistent on the PGA Tour and DP World Tour lately, placing T7 at the Procore Championship, 2nd at the Sanderson Farms Championship, T4 at the Baycurrent Classic, T4 at the World Wide Technology Championship, and T16 at the Nedbank Golf Challenge.

Additional highlights achieved by Higgo last year include T12 at the Puerto Rico Open, T3 at the Club Car Championship (Korn Ferry Tour), and a victory at the Corales Puntacana Championship.

The two-time PGA Tour winner has contested at the Farmers Insurance Open on three occasions, finishing T53 in 2023, MC in 2024, and T42 in 2025.

Higgo can secure the title in California after his recent performances on tour.

Verdict

Young will have every chance of victory at Torrey Pines if he can replicate his recent results.

Si Woo Kim has been knocking hard lately and looks ready to claim the title in California this weekend.

Gerard will aim to go one better than his last three starts and win the title this weekend.

Higgo has looked the part lately and can win another PGA Tour title come Sunday.
