The prestigious Memorial Tournament takes place on the PGA Tour from June 4-7 with the world's best teeing it up at Muirfield Village in the penultimate Signature Event of the season.

Scottie Scheffler is back to defend his title after a four-stroke victory over Ben Griffin in 2025, and will attempt to win the Memorial Tournament for a third year in a row.

These are our four selections that could win the title this weekend.

Xander Schauffele

Xander Schauffele had an indifferent start to his season on the PGA Tour, missing the cut at the Farmers Insurance Open before finishing T41 at the WM Phoenix Open.

However, Schauffele bounced back to form in his subsequent nine starts, placing T19 at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, T7 at the Genesis Invitational, T24 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, 3rd at the Players Championship, T4 at the Valspar Championship, T9 at the Masters, T12 at the RBC Heritage, T60 at the Truist Championship, and T7 at the PGA Championship.

The two-time Major champion has made eight appearances at the Memorial Tournament, with results of MC in 2018, T14 in 2019, T13 in 2020, T11 in 2021, T18 in 2022, T24 in 2023, T8 in 2024, and T25 in 2025.

Schauffele is overdue for a big result and can emerge as the winner of the Memorial Tournament come Sunday.

Patrick Cantlay

Patrick Cantlay lacked consistency at the start of his season, finishing T13 at the American Express, MC at the Farmers Insurance Open, T14 at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, T37 at the Genesis Invitational, MC at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, and T32 at the Players Championship.

However, Cantlay has been in better shape on the PGA Tour lately, placing T7 at the Valspar Championship, T12 at the Masters, T8 at the RBC Heritage, T10 at the Truist Championship before finishing T35 at the PGA Championship.

The eight-time PGA Tour winner has compiled an impressive record at Muirfield Village, placing T35 in 2017, 4th in 2018, victory in 2019, T32 in 2020, victory in 2021, T3 in 2022, T30 in 2023, MC in 2024, and T12 in 2025.

Cantlay has a proven track record at Muirfield Village and should enter calculations this weekend.

Chris Gotterup

Chris Gotterup was in fine fettle at the start of the PGA Tour season, winning the Sony Open in Hawaii, placing T18 at the Farmers Insurance Open, and winning the WM Phoenix Open before finishing T37 at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and missing the Genesis Invitational.

Gotterup has been there and thereabouts since those performances, placing T18 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, T56 at the Players Championship, T6 at the Texas Children's Houston Open, T24 at the Masters, T25 at the RBC Heritage, T14 at the Truist Championship, and T10 at the PGA Championship.

The four-time PGA Tour winner has yet to make an impact at Muirfield Village, missing the cut in 2023 and 2024.

Gotterup has proven he can compete with the very best this season and will be challenging for the title at the Memorial Tournament come Sunday.

Alex Fitzpatrick

Alex Fitzpatrick had a solid start to his season, finishing T19 at the BMW Australian PGA Championship, T65 at the Crown Australian Open, T37 at the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open, T19 at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic, and T16 at the Bahrain Championship before missing the cut at the Qatar Masters.

Since those results, Fitzpatrick has been in excellent form on the DP World Tour and PGA Tour, recording a T23 at the Magical Kenya Open, a T14 at the Investec South African Open Championship, a T6 at the Joburg Open, a victory at the Hero Indian Open, a victory at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, a T9 at the Cadillac Championship, a 4th at the Truist Championship, and a T75 at the PGA Championship.

The Englishman will make his debut at the Memorial Tournament this weekend.

Fitzpatrick has been in great touch lately and can win the title in Ohio this weekend.

Verdict

Schauffele will look to cap off his recent displays with a victory at Muirfield Village this weekend.

Cantlay has been showing signs that he is ready to register another victory on the PGA Tour.

Gotterup brings solid form into this tournament and can pocket the winner's cheque at the Memorial Tournament come Sunday.

Fitzpatrick has been ultra-consistent with his performances lately and can cause an upset victory in Ohio this weekend.
