The battle for FedEx Cup places continue as the PGA Tour heads to Sedgefield Country Club in North Carolina for the 2026 Wyndham Championship this weekend.

It is the final event of the regular season with players still bidding to finish inside the top 70 on the points list and make the FedEx Cup.

Cameron Young returns to defend his title after a six-stroke victory over Mac Meissner in 2025.

These are our four selections that could win the title this weekend.

Hideki Matsuyama

Hideki Matsuyama has been in solid form since the end of May, placing T13 at the Charles Schwab Challenge, T43 at the Memorial Tournament, T65 at the U.S. Open, T14 at the Travelers Championship, T14 at the Open Championship, T3 at the 3M Open and T5 at the Rocket Classic last weekend.

Additional highlights achieved by Matsuyama this season include a T13 at the Sony Open in Hawaii, a T11 at the Farmers Insurance Open, 2nd at the WM Phoenix Open, a T8 at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, a T21 at the Valero Texas Open and a T12 at the Masters.

The ten-time PGA Tour winner has contested the Wyndham Championship on six occasions, finishing T3 in 2016, T11 in 2018, MC in 2019, MC in 2021, MC in 2023 and T19 in 2025.

Matsuyama can convert his excellent form into a winning performance in North Carolina this weekend.

Ryan Gerard

Ryan Gerard has been performing well during the past two months, placing T10 at the Charles Schwab Challenge, 2nd at the Memorial Tournament, MC at the U.S. Open, T44 at the Travelers Championship, T26 at the Genesis Scottish Open, T9 at the Open Championship and T8 at the Rocket Classic last weekend.

Other prominent performances achieved by Gerard on the DP World Tour and PGA Tour this season include 2nd at the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open, 2nd at the Sony Open in Hawaii, a T2 at the American Express, a T11 at the Farmers Insurance Open and a T23 at the Cognizant Classic.

The American has made two appearances at the Wyndham Championship, missing the cut in 2023 and 2025.

Gerard has performed well lately and has a good chance of winning the title at the Sedgefield Country Club this weekend.

Ben Kohles

Ben Kohles has been in decent nick on the Korn Ferry Tour and PGA Tour over his last seven starts, placing T23 at the U.S. Open, T19 at the Memorial Health Championship, T3 at the John Deere Classic, T15 at the ISCO Championship, T44 at the Travelers Championship, 9th at the 3M Open and T8 at the Rocket Classic last weekend.

Other noteworthy performances achieved by Kohles this season include a T19 at the Bahamas Golf Classic, a T10 at the Bahamas Great Abaco Classic, 6th at the Argentina Open, a T13 at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, 12th at the Colonial Life Charity Classic and a victory at the BMW Charity Pro-Am.

The American golfer has featured three times at the Wyndham Championship, finishing T54 in 2022, MC in 2024 and MC in 2025.

Kohles has been thereabouts lately and can secure victory at the Sedgefield Country Club this weekend.

Blades Brown

Blades Brown has been in ultra-consistent form on the Korn Ferry Tour and PGA Tour since the beginning of May, placing T9 at the Myrtle Beach Classic, T16 at the Colonial Life Charity Classic, T14 at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson, T13 at the UNC Health Championship, T17 at the BMW Charity Pro-Am and T55 at the Memorial Health Championship.

He was then T12 at the John Deere Classic, T22 at the Blue Championship, T11 at the Corales Puntacana Championship, T5 at the Evans Scholars Invitational and T6 at the Utah Championship last weekend.

Other notable results achieved by Brown this year include a T17 at the Bahamas Great Abaco Classic, a T18 at the American Express, 3rd at the Puerto Rico Open, 3rd at the Club Car Championship, and 2nd at the Tulum Championship.

The 19-year-old will make his debut at the Wyndham Championship this weekend.

Brown has shown that he can mix it with the best and should enter calculations in North Carolina.

Verdict

Matsuyama has been knocking hard lately and can emerge as the winner at the Sedgefield Country Club this weekend.

Gerard has the form to go all the way and win the Wyndham Championship come Sunday.

Kohles comes into the tournament on the back of solid results and could cause an upset victory come Sunday.

Brown has been performing well this season and offers excellent value in North Carolina this weekend.
