The Queensland Reds are set to face Fijian Drua with the goal of securing a bonus-point win, giving themselves a chance to climb higher in the Super Rugby standings ahead of the playoffs. Having already clinched a playoff spot, the Reds' consistent home dominance—winning their last three at home against Drua—and Drua’s poor away record make them strong favorites. Despite some hiccups, the Reds' recent form and the visitors’ struggles away from Fiji support the expectation of a comprehensive win, with pundits backing the Reds to cover a -16.5 handicap.

The Reds will be eager for a bonus point win to put themselves in a position to gain a place or two in the final round. They have already secured the playoff spot, but higher up the table will mean an "easier" fixture. We are backing a big Reds win.

Key Stats - Reds Dominant at home against Drua

  • Reds have won 4 of their last 6 home fixtures.
  • Reds have won 3 consecutive home matches against Fijian Drua.
  • Fijian Drua have lost 5 of their last 6 away games.

Reds have Edge, Dominant at Home

Reds lead 4-3 against Fijian Drua in seven matches. However, Drua's wins have come in Fiji with the Reds dominating in Queensland.

Reds Looking to Climb the Table

The Queensland Reds scored a late try to seal the match against Moana Pasifika last weekend, winning 33-31 away from home after leading 21-7 at half-time.

The Reds have played well at home this season. They defeated the Highlanders 31-14, the Waratahs 26-17, lost 42-19 to the Western Force, and beat the Crusaders 31-26 and the Brumbies 30-21 before losing 31-21 to the Chiefs.

The Reds are 6th in the Super Rugby standings with 32 points from 13 games.

The team from Queensland will be pleased to have reached the playoffs after their last victory and will fancy their chances against Fijian Drua to potentially finish fourth in the table, as their opponents have been poor on the road this season, losing five of their six matches.

Fijian Drua Playoff Hopes Dashed

The Fijian Drua let a first-half lead slip in their match against the Western Force last weekend, losing 19-15 away from home after leading their hosts 12-7 at the break.

Before that result, the side from Suva had achieved little success away from home in the league this season. They lost to the Waratahs 36-13, the Blues 40-15, the Crusaders 69-26, and beat the Brumbies 33-28 before losing 42-22 to the Chiefs.

The Drua are 10th in the Super Rugby standings with 21 points from 13 matches.

Fijian Drua have not been at their best in recent outings and have a poor record playing away from home against the Reds, losing three on the trot in Queensland.
