China did not qualify for the final tournament through their group-stage results, finishing ninth with a 6-6 record, but secured their place as hosts.

A 3-0 victory over Ukraine briefly halted the slide before further defeats to the Dominican Republic (3-1) and Italy (3-2).
China entered the quarter-final against top-seeded USA as heavy underdogs but produced one of the biggest upsets of the tournament, defeating the Americans 3-2 with strong backing from the home crowd.
Turkey Chasing a Place in the Final
Turkey reached the Volleyball Nations League final tournament for the second consecutive year after finishing sixth in 2025. They won nine of their 12 group-stage matches to secure fourth place in the standings.
The Crescent Stars were outstanding throughout Week 2, recording victories over Belgium (3-0), France (3-0), Germany (3-2) and China (3-2).
Week 3 brought further wins against Poland (3-1), Japan (3-1) and Thailand (3-1), while their only defeat came against the United States, who edged them 3-2 after Turkey had twice led in sets.
Turkey faced some early problems in the quarter-final against Canada but recovered well to claim a convincing 3-1 victory.
Verdict
The last four meetings between these sides all went the distance, and another close battle looks likely. China will be full of confidence after eliminating USA, while Turkey were far from convincing in the opening stages against Canada.
