Ukraine's playoff hopes are hanging by a thread after securing just four points in their four EuroVolley 2026 matches, currently sitting in 5th place in Group B.
Ukraine had a disastrous start to the tournament, dropping their opening two games despite being tagged as heavy favorites on both occasions.
After losing the opener to Bulgaria 3-0, with the first two sets lost by just two points, the Blue and Yellows then wasted a 2-1 lead against Greece and lost in five sets.
They kept their playoff hopes alive by taking a commanding 3-0 win over underdogs Austria, allowing just 43 points in total, but couldn't do much in the fourth-round clash against the Czech Republic, losing 3-1.
Serbia Already Secured Top Spot
Serbia are off to a great start at EuroVolley 2026, claiming four victories in the opening four rounds and already securing a spot in the playoffs, now battling for top placement.
After demolishing Austria 3-0 and allowing just 47 points, the Serbians defeated the Czech Republic 3-1, once again keeping their opponents below 20 points in three sets.
Their third straight victory was earned on Monday, outplaying their Balkan neighbours Bulgaria in straight sets and allowing just 32 points in the opening two sets, while they had zero problems against Greece yesterday, winning 3-0.
