Adelaide 36ers vs Sydney Kings Preview


Sydney are one win away from claiming the NBL Championship after taking a 2-1 lead over the Adelaide 36ers. The Kings have been the better team across all three games so far and are taken to wrap it up. 

  • Adelaide had their best shooting night of the series vs Sydney in Game 3 but still lost by 13 pts.
  • Sydney have an effective field goal percentage of 59.6% during this series.

Adelaide 36ers Find Best Shooting In Game 3


Adelaide were quick out of the gates in Game 3, putting 31 points on the Kings in the first quarter. 

That feat happened just three times during the regular season for the Kings which shows how good the 36ers were playing. 

But they were unable to hold the tempo for the remaining three quarters with Bryce Cotton being heavily guarded, forcing other Adelaide players to make decisions. 

The 36ers attacked the inside through their bigs and had success but Sydney were just better.

Sydney Kings Take The Series Lead


Sydney have a very clear game plan in this series. Force anyone but Bryce Cotton to win the game for Adelaide. 

They double-teamed the league MVP on multiple occasions and Matthew Dellavedova was on his final breath more than once through the game after chasing Cotton all over the court.

The plan worked though with Cotton scoring just 15 points and his teammates unable to carry the scoring volume. Kendric Davis got his revenge after Game 2 and put up 34 points to lead the team to victory. 

He has played all but 22 seconds of the last two matchups and was the first person since 1995 to record 15 assists and 0 turnovers in a NBL match.
