Blaugrana also made an amazing start to the semifinal series, crushing Tenerife 100-67 in front of the home crowd on Tuesday after allowing just 27 points in the first half. Brizuela’s shooting was on point once again, earning him 18 points.
Tenerife Need a Response
Tenerife have produced one of the biggest upsets in recent ACB Liga playoff history, finishing the regular season in 8th place before eliminating top-seeded Real Madrid in a thrilling 2-1 series.
The series started with a stunning 98-97 victory in Madrid after Tenerife recovered from a seven-point deficit in the final 40 seconds and hit the game-winning three-pointer with one second remaining. They were then crushed 118-83 at home in Game 2.
The veteran-packed side entered the final quarter of the deciding clash trailing by three points but hit five of nine three-point attempts in the last 10 minutes to complete a huge comeback and secure a 107-95 victory. Patty Mills was unstoppable with 29 points, while Marcelinho Huertas added 23.
They could not carry that momentum into the semifinals though, losing convincingly to Barcelona 100-67 on Tuesday. Tenerife’s shooting was dreadful, converting just 25 of 64 field-goal attempts and only 3 of 18 from beyond the arc.

Barcelona are a team that aim to control the pace and rhythm at all costs, while Tenerife’s veteran roster is not built for an up-tempo game. I expect another tactical battle and fewer than 176 points in Game 2.
