Match Preview
Game 3 of the Spanish ACB Liga finals is on where Valencia responded in dominant fashion after a painful overtime defeat in Game 1, while Barcelona now look to regain momentum in front of their own crowd.
Barcelona Looking to Bounce Back
Even though their performances and results in 2026 haven’t been optimistic, Barcelona are having a great run in the ACB Liga playoffs, eliminating Murcia in three games in the quarterfinals and Tenerife 3-0 in the semifinals, usually heavily carried by Will Clyburn.
Xavi Pascual’s side had more turnovers, fewer rebounds and poor free throw execution in Game 1 against Valencia last week, yet still escaped with a 113-112 victory. Clyburn scored 21 points, while Nicolas Laprovittola added 20.
They stood no chance in Game 2 though, falling behind by a 16-point deficit after the first quarter and never recovering, losing convincingly 102-75 while their field goal percentage was at just 40%.
Valencia Having a Great Season
The Oranges didn’t face many problems in the quarterfinal series against Bilbao, winning 83-80 and 88-71, then were properly challenged in one game by Joventut in the semifinals but still advanced 3-0.
The start of the final series against Barcelona was full of twists and comebacks, but a poor defensive display ultimately led to Valencia’s 113-112 overtime defeat. Jean Montero topped the charts with 24 points, seven assists and five rebounds.
Montero (19 points, five rebounds and six assists) was the top performer in Game 2 on Saturday where Valencia crushed Barcelona 102-75 to tie the series. The Oranges controlled the boards with 42-34 rebounds and had over 50% three-point shooting.
Verdict
Valencia have shown more quality and consistency than Barcelona throughout this campaign and I expect them to build on the convincing Game 2 win and reclaim control of this series. Oranges to win is the bet.
