Lithuania Looking to Secure Qualification
Lithuania are in a strong position to advance, but performances in Group D have not been as convincing as expected. Their campaign opened with a dramatic 89-88 victory over Great Britain on the road after completing one of their biggest comebacks in recent years.
That success was followed by disappointing back-to-back defeats, first falling short against Italy 82-81 before suffering another narrow setback against Iceland 86-85.
The Green and Yellows responded well in Round 4 by crushing Iceland 99-82 in front of the home crowd. Lithuania dominated defensively by forcing 17 turnovers, while Ignas Brazdeikis led the scoring with 27 points.
Great Britain Tagged Underdog
Great Britain enter the fifth round bottom of Group D after winning just once in four games, and in theory one win from the remaining two matches could be enough for the next phase.
