Carlos Adames vs Hamzah Sheeraz Predictions & Tips

Hamzah Sheeraz is tipped to win the WBC world middleweight title by knockout.

Sheeraz still has areas of his game that need improvement, but until then he can rely on his heavy hands to break down and stop his opponent.

  • Hamzah Sheeraz has a 21-0 record
  • 17 of Hamzah Sheeraz’s 21 career wins have been via knockout
  • Hamzah Sheeraz has not gone the distance since a 6-round fight in December 2018

Carlos Adames Form

Carlos Adames is the reigning WBC world middleweight champion with a professional record of 24-1 (18 KOs).

Adames made his professional debut in July 2015 and amassed several minor titles as he won the first 18 fights of his career.

That run earned him a shot at the interim WBO light-middleweight title in November 2019, but he failed to take his opportunity as he lost to Patrick Teixeira by unanimous decision.

The 30-year-old Dominican has not lost since though, beginning this six-fight win streak with a sixth-round knockout of Bryan Medina.

Adames then stopped Alexis Salazar in the third, before claiming a majority decision win over Sergiy Derevyanchenko in December 2021.

That secured him a fight for the interim WBC middleweight title, and he made no mistake in dispatching Juan Macias Montiel in three rounds.

He then knocked out Julian Williams in the ninth to defend the title, before being upgraded to full champion status.

Adames successfully defended that crown for the first time last June, beating Terrell Gausha by unanimous decision.

Hamzah Sheeraz Form

Hamzah Sheeraz is a former European and Commonwealth middleweight champion with a professional record of 21-0 (17 KOs).

Sheeraz entered the professional ranks in September 2017 and quickly climbed the ladder, winning the vacant WBO European light-middleweight title in November 2019.

He knocked out Ryan Kelly in the sixth round of that fight, and then made four successful defences of that crown before moving up to middleweight.

The 25-year-old Londoner immediately picked up the WBC silver title in his new weight class, while also claiming the Commonwealth title with a second-round stoppage of River-Wilson Bent in November 2022.

From there Sheeraz racked up a couple of quickfire knockouts, stopping Dmytro Mytrofanov in the second before taking out former world title challenger Liam Williams in the first.

That victory over Williams was the first of three successes for the Englishman in 2024.

He went on to stop Austin Williams in the 11th round, and then finished Tyler Denny in the second to claim the European title.

Verdict

Hamzah Sheeraz has been on a tear since turning professional, and this represents his biggest test yet.

He has passed previous tests with flying colours though, thanks in no small part to his punching power, so we are backing Sheeraz to get the job done inside the distance.
