The article discusses the upcoming rematch between Oleksandr Usyk and Daniel Dubois. Usyk is predicted to win by knockout, similar to their first encounter where he secured victory in the 9th round. Both fighters have impressive credentials, but Usyk's track record shows a consistent ability to finish fights in the later rounds. Dubois, although a strong contender, has suffered knockouts in the past, particularly in rounds 7-12, which suggests he may face similar challenges against Usyk.

Oleksandr Usyk vs Daniel Dubois 2 Predictions & Tips

Oleksandr Usyk is tipped to win the undisputed heavyweight crown via knockout.

  • Oleksandr Usyk won the first meeting by 9th round KO
  • 9 of Oleksandr Usyk’s last 10 stoppage wins have come in rounds 7-12
  • Both of Daniel Dubois’ career defeats have been by knockout
  • Daniel Dubois’ 2 knockout losses occurred in rounds 7-12

Head To Head

  • Oleksandr Usyk won by 9th round knockout when the two men last met in August 2023

Oleksandr Usyk Form

Oleksandr Usyk is the reigning WBA (Super), WBC, WBO, IBO and Ring Magazine world heavyweight champion with a professional record of 23-0 (14 KOs).

Usyk spent almost a decade competing in the cruiserweight division and went on to become the undisputed champion in the division.

That historic moment came in July 2018 when he beat Murat Gassiev points in the final of the World Boxing Super Series tournament.

He successfully defended that crown once, knocking out Tony Bellew in the eighth round, before making the move up to heavyweight.

Usyk marked his debut with a seventh-round stoppage of Chazz Witherspoon, and then earned himself a world heavyweight title fight when he beat Derek Chisora on points.

The 38-year-old Ukrainian took his big chance has he dominated Anthony Joshua to claim the WBA (Super), IBF, WBO and IBO titles by unanimous decision.

He won the rematch between the two men, adding the Ring Magazine title via split decision, before knocking out Daniel Dubois in the ninth round in his second world title defence.

That set up a huge clash with Tyson Fury to determine the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world, and it was Usyk who had his hand raised by split decision.

‘The Cat’ then left no doubt in the rematch last December as he beat Fury by unanimous decision to retain his world titles.

Daniel Dubois Form

Daniel Dubois is the reigning IBF world heavyweight champion with a professional record of 22-2 (21 KOs).

Dubois claimed several minor titles as he won the first 15 fights of his professional career, but his rise up the ladder was briefly halted in November 2020.

The 27-year-old Londoner was knocked out by Joe Joyce in the 10th round of that fight, but he rebounded quickly.

He claimed the interim WBA title in his next outing by knocking out Bogdan Dinu in the second round., and backed that up with a first round knockout of Joe Cusumano.

Dubois then stopped Trevor Bryan in the fourth and Kevin Lereda in the third to land a shot at world heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk.

He came up short in August of 2023 though, as he was knocked out in the ninth round of that fight.

‘DDD’ again rebounded quickly from a loss though, stopping Jarrell Miller in the 10th round, and he then claimed the interim IBF belt by knocking out Filip Hrgovic in the eighth.

He was later upgraded to full IBF world champion status, and in his first defence last September he knocked out Anthony Joshua in the fifth round.

Verdict

Daniel Dubois has a puncher’s chance, but so have a lot of men that Oleksandr Usyk has faced.

Usyk has dispatched all of those men with clinical precision, and we expect another successful outing for the Ukrainian as he finishes the fight before the final bell.
