Bangladesh vs Australia 3rd ODI Betting Tips - Bangladesh can whitewash Australia

Bangladesh have taken a strong 2-0 series lead over Australia in their ODI clash, bolstered by in-form batters Towhid Hridoy and Najmul Hossain Shanto, and the consistent bowling of Mustafizur Rahman. Australia has struggled to adapt to Bangladesh's home conditions, losing four of their last five ODIs, including the last three consecutively. Bangladesh's early bowling breakthroughs and cohesive team performance have been decisive, placing them as favourites to continue their dominance as the series progresses.

Bangladesh have dominated the opening two games as Australia struggle to come to terms with conditions. I suspect this will be another struggle for the visitors.

Bangladesh Lead Series 2-0

Bangladesh have won the last two matches, both in this series, against Australia.

Bangladesh Superb at Home

Bangladesh are in great form in the 50-over format, winning their last four ODIs in a row and having just secured a fourth ODI series win on the bounce after taking an unassailable 2-0 series lead against Australia.

Towhid Hridoy is Bangladesh’s in-form batter, having put together scores of 86, 101, 101*, 31 and 40* in his last 5 innings. Najmul Hossain Shanto has also been scoring consistently, racking up innings of 108*, 37, 30, 67 and 41 in his last five matches. Litton Das has scored 126, 69, 43 and 21 in the last month.

Bangladesh had Australia three wickets down without a run on the board at the start of the 2nd ODI, with Taskin Ahmed (2/33), Mustafizur Rahman (3/27) and Tanvir Islam (2/45) bowling superbly to keep their visitors to under 190 off their reduced 42 overs. Tanvir Islam has figures of 2/18, 4/37 and 2/45 in his last four matches, while Mustafizur Rahman has 16 wickets in his last five innings.

Australia Struggling on Slow Wickets

Australia are a team in crisis after their early exit from the T20 World Cup and they have lost four of their last five ODIs, including the last three on the bounce.

Josh Inglis (34 off 38) and Cameron Green (25 off 50) helped get Australia’s innings back on track after losing their first three wickets without scoring in the opening two overs. Xavier Bartlett chipped in at number eight with a vital 48-ball score of 52 in partnership with Marnus Labuschagne, who held the innings together in scoring an undefeated 55 off 85 balls.

Five Aussie bowlers each picked up a wicket but it wasn’t enough to deny Bangladesh a series-securing win by five wickets with six overs to spare. Riley Meredith has picked up eight wickets in his last five matches but the Aussies’ in-form bowler is Nathan Ellis, who has picked up 2/45, 4/33 and 3/38 in his last five matches.

Bangladesh vs Australia Squads & Team news

Bangladesh skipper Taskin Ahmed was overjoyed by his side’s great start to the 2nd ODI.

"A beautiful start such as that would always put any opponent under pressure. I think we utilised that advantage we got in the first hour. The ball was seaming in the morning. I think Fizz and I made life easier for everyone by taking those wickets. The pitch got better for batting later, but dominating the first powerplay certainly gives you the upper hand for the rest of the match,” said Ahmed in his post-match interview.

“The best thing about this series win is, nobody can talk about the pitches. It is a great feeling to bowl like that against Australia. We couldn't make sense of it in the middle but we were focused every over. We wanted to get the job done quickly, but they had a good partnership towards the end. Still, it went in our favour."

Bangladesh squad: Mehidy Hasan Miraz (c), Soumya Sarkar, Saif Hassan, Tanzid Hasan, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Tawhid Hridoy, Litton Das, Mosaddek Hossain, Nurul Hasan, Rishad Hossain, Tanvir Islam, Mustafizur Rahman, Taskin Ahmed, Shoriful Islam, Nahid Rana.

Australia squad: Mitchell Marsh (c), Xavier Bartlett, Alex Carey, Cooper Connolly, Ben Dwarshuis, Nathan Ellis, Cameron Green, Travis Head, Josh Inglis, Matthew Kuhnemann, Marnus Labuschagne, Matthew Renshaw, Tanveer Sangha, Liam Scott, Adam Zampa.

Verdict

Bangladesh are tipped to win, with Mustafizur Rahman, Towhid Hridoy and Cameron Green are backed to star with bat and ball.
