The upcoming Intel Extreme Masters Beijing 2026 Global Qualifier match between 3DMAX and HEROIC is set to be unpredictable. While HEROIC historically leads 2-0 in head-to-head encounters, both teams are coming off disappointing seasons. 3DMAX's aggressive yet volatile playstyle has recently shown more promise, despite speculation about delayed salaries affecting morale. HEROIC, in contrast, is struggling for form and confidence. Overall, the match is wide open, with neither team a clear favorite and both seeking to prove a point.

3DMAX vs HEROIC Betting Predictions

3DMAX and HEROIC will begin their Intel Extreme Masters Beijing 2026 Global Qualifier campaign on Wednesday, September 2, when they face off in the first round of the bracket.

Both teams enter the qualifiers with a lot to prove, having both had fairly unsuccessful seasons. 3DMAX have shown more glimpses of greatness but have also proven very volatile. Meanwhile, HEROIC have been largely disappointing in recent weeks, failing to step up even against lesser opponents.

This is a clash between two teams looking to prove themselves, and while HEROIC are viewed as favourites, it is hard to find a solid reason to view them as objectively better.

  • Both teams have a lot more to prove
  • HEROIC have looked iffy of late
  • This can be anyone’s game

3DMAX Looking To Make Noise

3DMAX enter the Intel Extreme Masters Beijing 2026 Global Qualifier following a very disappointing performance at the Esports World Cup, where the French squad crashed out in 25th-32nd place, losing to magic and Natus Vincere.

Prior to that, 3DMAX have made more noise, reaching the quarterfinals of BLAST Bounty Summer after beating magic and FUT Esports. Yet even in their final match, against MOUZ, 3DMAX showed good things, and came a few rounds short of sweeping, with 13-10 on Dust II, 18-22 on Nuke and 3-13 on Inferno.

3DMAX are an exciting team, known for their aggressive playstyle, which can be difficult to deal with. This also explains their lack of consistency and high degree of volatility, but this style also makes them potent underdogs, who are not afraid of punching up.

HEROIC Are Looking for a Breakthrough Run

HEROIC have been very mediocre this season, managing only two tournament titles, most recently at Stake Ranked Episode 3. However, in bigger events, they’ve been toothless.

Since July, HEROIC have attended and crashed out early from BLAST Bounty Summer (17th-32nd), StarLadder StarSeries Fall European Qualifier (fifth-eighth), and the Esports World Cup Last Chance Qualifiers, which HEROIC exited in ninth-16th place.

Results-wise, HEROIC have not shown anything exceptional. They are 3-2 from the last five, with wins against ASTRAL, 9INE, and REM, and defeats against Ninjas in Pyjamas and Fnatic.

These results inspire no confidence that HEROIC will find any success at IEM Beijing qualifiers, as they have struggled against inferior teams.

Verdict

There have been reports of 3DMAX players having to deal with delayed salary payments, which could affect their motivation. However, this is purely speculative, and it doesn't change the fact that 3DMAX have been playing better than HEROIC of late.

Better said, HEROIC have looked worse, struggling to find much success even against weaker opponents in more recent events. Admittedly, this team should be capable of much more than what they’ve shown, but until HEROIC produce something memorable in the arena, they should be doubted.
