Evil Geniuses Have Some Wrinkles
Evil Geniuses finished Group Alpha in fourth place, with a 2-3 record, and have since shown some signs of life. They defeated Cloud9 2-1 in the second round of the Play-In stage and narrowly lost to FURIA in the upper bracket, suffering a rough reverse-sweep loss.
Evil Geniuses won Sunset against FURIA but collapsed on Breeze with 7-13 and Haven with 8-13. It was a valiant effort, but FURIA were too much to handle. EG lacked individually against FURIA, but that doesn’t change the fact that Evil Geniuses haven't been playing poorly.
They need to work on their map pool, however, as Evil Geniuses do not have one or two maps they’re very good on. They are serviceable on most, but that’s about it.

KRU Esports reached the third round of VCT Americas Stage 2 lower bracket with wins against Fluxo W7M (2-0) and Sentinels (0-2), following a rough loss against MIBR in the upper bracket.
KRU have looked a bit shaky for most of the Play-In stage, which is just a continuation of their iffy showings in the group stage. However, KRU stepped up against Sentinels and won with 13-7 on Ascent and 13-8 on Haven.
Less had a monstrous performance, posting a 1.48 performance rating ahead of saadhak and mwzera, who were tied at 1.21.
