NRG are among the lowest-rated teams attending the event, having not featured in many big tournaments this season, nor have they managed to find much success in their attempts to win trophies.

MOUZ Are in Great Shape

MOUZ head to Spain with a clear goal in mind – win their second big event trophy of the season. And given their form in the recent months, that sounds more than manageable.

MOUZ have shown some signs of life in May with two third-place finishes at PGL Astana and CS Asia Championships, but truly stepped up in August with a gold medal at BLAST Bounty Summer, adding a runner-up finish at BLAST Open Fall earlier this month.

With a gold and silver medal from two of the last three events attended, MOUZ have secured the tag of one of the most in-form teams in the world, despite their slip-up at the Esports World Cup, which they exited in the quarterfinals, with a loss to FUT Esports.

NRG Don’t Look Ready

NRG are not expected to do well at StarLadder StarSeries, mainly due to the lack of accomplishments in their bigger event appearances this season.

Since the start of the year, NRG have won three trophies, albeit their most notable came from Ace North American Masters Spring in February. They also added a first-place finish from FRAG St. Clair in July, but even that is hardly something to write home about.

NRG’s last appearance in a tier-one tournament came in June, when they attended the Intel Extreme Masters Cologne Major, ending the event in 25th-27th place, with a 2-3 record in Stage 1.

With those results, NRG can’t be trusted to deal with any of the world’s top-rated teams, especially MOUZ, who enter StarLadder StarSeries as the highest-rated squad of the tournament.

NRG have shown nothing to suggest they can handle tier-1 teams this season, having regularly exited bigger events early. And with no notable improvement shown ahead of StarLadder Star Series, NRG’s only hope of doing any damage on Thursday is for MOUZ to slip.

MOUZ have produced some inconsistent tournament placements this year, but have been ramping up over the last two months and head to Spain in excellent shape. Known to consistently handle weaker teams, MOUZ should be heavily favoured to come out ahead of this affair with a clean sweep.
