9z Team won the last clash with PARIVISION 2-0 a month ago; however, they are not expected to be as successful in the rematch. That is largely because they've not had a chance to prove themselves in Stage 2 of the tournament, facing mostly weaker opponents.

On the other side, PARIVISION haven’t shown much ahead of the Major either, granted they have previously proven their high ceiling, which could be a reason enough to take their side in this contest.

PARIVISION Kick off Their Major Campaign

PARIVISION are set to play their first game of IEM Cologne Major on Thursday, and their first since May 22, when they crashed out of CS Asia Championships in the group stage.

It was their second consecutive early elimination from an event, succeeding a promising run to the quarterfinals at PGL Bucharest and a semifinal appearance at BLAST Open Spring. Even earlier in the season, PARIVISION showed up and made the finals of PGL Cluj-Napoca, a month after winning BLAST Bounty Winter.

PARIVISION have shown very high highs this season, but they seem to have cooled down a bit. Now the main question is whether they can find their long-lost form, or whether PARIVISION’s slump will continue.

9z Team Are Showing Some Promise

9z Team qualified for Stage 3 of the Major with a 3-1 record, beating FlyQuest, Astralis, and TYLOO. Their sole loss on the stage came against the high-flying Team Spirit.

9z have essentially lost against one of the tournament’s best teams and have beaten three squads that did not reach Stage 3. This mix of results makes it hard to properly evaluate how good 9z are.

They deserve some praise for crushing FlyQuest, Astralis, and TYLOO, but it remains to be seen whether 9z are capable of stepping up in competition and challenging stronger teams.

June 8	IEM Cologne Major 2026	TYLOO	2-0 (W)
June 7	IEM Cologne Major 2026	Team Spirit	0-2 (L)

Verdict

PARIVISION v 9z Team

PARIVISION are expected to win, which, considering their past success this season, makes sense. However, 9z Team have enough firepower to keep up, as they showed in May, when 9z swept PARIVISION.

9z Team also have a deeper map pool than PARIVISION, which helped them win the clash last month. On the other hand, PARIVISION are a more experienced team, and the pressure of the Major will not affect them as much as it likely will 9z.

This has the potential to be a competitive game, but I have to put my trust in PARIVISION.
