Both teams lost their opening games of the season; however, despite their slip-up, T1 has looked much better. Gen.G lost to an inferior opponent and seems to be struggling to adapt to life with a new in-game leader and new players.

T1 Have More to Show
T1 looked good in the offseason games, but they failed to translate that into their first match of VCT Pacific Kickoff. Despite the high expectations, T1 lost to Nongshim RedForce 1-2.
T1 took the series lead with 13-9 on Split, but got reverse-swept with 4-13 on Haven and 9-13 on Corrode. Munchkin’s official debut did not end the way T1 hoped, but that one defeat should not be a reason for concern.
This is a very stacked team, who seem like they’re going though some growing pains following the changes.

Gen.G Esports Look Shaky
Gen.G Esports lost their first match of the season against DetonatioN FocusMe 0-2. It was a shocking loss for Gen.G, who entered the VCT Pacific Kickoff with very high expectations. However, they failed to perform.
The role swaps Gen.G have made do not look all that comfortable, with ZynX and Lakia both struggling, posting a 0.62 and 0.61 performance rating, respectively. Losing Byeon "Munchkin" Sang-beom seems to be a huge blow to Gen.G, who will now get to play their former member.

Verdict
T1 did not look great in their loss against Nongshim RedForce. But it is fair to argue that T1 struggled solely because of NS’s fast-paced style, which caught T1 off guard.
Both teams have more room to grow, and they both need time. But in their current stage T1 look more stable.
Gen.G are not the same team, in the sense that they do not play as fast. This could be an advantage for T1, who seem like they’re still adapting to Munchkin as a new in-game leader and will need more time to be able to respond to teams who like to play fast.
Both teams have more room to grow, and they both need time. But in their current stage T1 look more stable.
