Team Liquid secured a direct bye to the VCT EMEA Stage 2 Playoffs, having managed a 3-2 record in Group Omega, which was enough for a runner-up finish.
During the group stage, Team Liquid looked very good, and much better than they did in Stage 1. While they dropped two games against Eternal Fire and Karmine Corp, Team Liquid also bested Team Heretics (2-0), Fnatic (2-0), and GIANTX (2-0).
Notably, even their loss against Karmine Corp (1-2) was a very competitive one and could’ve easily ended the other way. So besides the slip-up on the first day of play, Team Liquid have looked excellent against EF.
The big question now is whether Liquid can carry some of that momentum into the playoffs. At the very least, they’ve had enough time to rest and prepare, which can work in their favour.
