Porto heads to AVS having just claimed the Liga Portugal title, while the hosts are already relegated but showing late-season fight. AVS have scored regularly at home, while Porto may rotate their lineup and relax after their celebrations. With BTTS landing in AVS’ recent matches and Porto historically seeing both teams score against AVS, the recommendation is to back BTTS in this encounter. Key stat: Porto are undefeated in nine but BTTS has landed in six of their last eight games.

Porto have been the best team in Liga Portugal and deservedly secured the title last weekend. AVS are finishing the season strong despite being relegated, BTTS my best bet here.

Porto have won all three matches against AVS, scoring nine goals with none conceded.

AVS Ending the Season Strong

AVS’ relegation has been secured after a disastrous season in Liga Portugal. They have the weakest attack and worst defence, conceding 66 goals in 32 games.

Joao Henriques’ side have managed to pick up some points in recent weeks but it’s been far too late. They recently secured 1-1 home draws against Guimaraes and Sporting CP.

The Vila das Aves club are coming off a 2-1 win at Nacional, their second victory this season. Trailing in the 4th minute, Pedro Lima and Guilherme Neiva scored to complete an unlikely comeback in Madeira.

Henriques discussed the position on the table: “This team showed today that the table really lies a lot. It's in a position that we all know it won't get out of."

"It's a final decision, but it's unfair to the value of these players and to what we've accomplished."

Porto Champions

Porto recently exited the Europa League and Portuguese Cup but held on to claim the Liga Portugal title.

Deniz Gul scored twice to secure a 2-1 win at Estrela da Amadora in their previous road game. The Dragons returned home and beat Alverca 1-0 to win the title with two games to spare.

It’s been fully deserved for Francesco Farioli’s side who have been defensively superb, conceding just 15 goals in 32 appearances.

Farioli spoke after the victory: “There are so many emotions. Now I need to try to relax a bit because I was fully focused on the game until the final minute. Jorge (Costa) was there with some crucial defensive interventions for us.”

“I’m very happy for everyone, for this group, for everyone working at the club, for the president, for Jorge Costa, and for all those who deserve a night like this after several years without this title.”

Confirmed Lineups & Team News

AVS (3-4-3) Adriel Ramos; Matheus Pivo, Cristian Devenish, Paulo Vitor, Leonardo Rivas; Gustavo Mendonca, Roni Moura, Pedro Lima; Babatunde Akinsola, Diego Duarte, Guilherme Neiva

Porto (4-3-3) Cláudio Ramos; Alberto Costa, Thiago Silva, Dominik Prpić, Francisco Moura; Seko Fofana, Alan Varela, Rodrigo Mora; Pepe, Deniz Gül, Borja Sainz

Farioli has made mass changes with the title wrapped up, Cláudio Ramos, Dominik Prpić, Thiago Silva, Francisco Moura, Seko Fofana, Rodrigo Mora and Borja Sainz coming into the starting side.

Jan Bednarek was recently robbed at home and is not in the squad.

Verdict

AVS have scored in their last four home games including home matches against Sporting CP and Guimaraes. Porto could be below their best here after celebrating the title, BTTS backed in northern Portugal.
