The London side thrashed Tottenham 3-0 at home and Birmingham 6-1 away in their first two matches. Three consecutive draws followed against Leeds 1-1, Sunderland 1-1 and Bournemouth 2-2.

The Bees got back to winning ways after beating Reading 2-1 in the EFL Cup. Callum Wilson and Fabio Carvalho scored as Brentford dominated with 3.17 XG.

Aston Villa (4-2-3-1): Zion Suzuki; Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Victor Lindelof, Tyrone Mings, Matteo Ruggeri; Boubacar Kamara, Joao Gomes; John McGinn, Johan Manzambi, Emiliano Buendia; Nicolas Jackson

Defender Pau Torres, goalkeeper Marco Bizot, midfielder Leon Goretzka and attackers Alysson and Brian Madjo are injury doubts.

Verdict

Aston Villa look sharp in attack after some high-scoring recent wins. Brentford have plenty of quality up front and it’s worth sticking with goals in this Premier League clash.
