Tottenham and Coventry have both improved their attacking displays after sluggish Premier League starts. Bettors are advised to back 'Both Teams to Score' (BTTS) and over 2.5 goals at odds of 2.1, with a suggested stake of 2 units. Additionally, there's a recommendation for over 3.5 goals at odds of 2.45, with a smaller 1 unit stake. The article highlights these markets based on recent goalscoring form and matchup prospects.

Tottenham vs Coventry Preview

3 BTTS Results in a Row for Spurs

  • Tottenham have seen BTTS in their last 3 games.
  • Tottenham have seen over 3.5 goals in 2 of their last 3 matches.
  • Coventry have seen over 3.5 goals in 3 of their last 4 games.

H2H

Tottenham have a 44-26 advantage against Coventry, alongside 22 draws.

Tottenham Are Scoring More Goals

Roberto De Zerbi’s Tottenham remain inside the Premier League’s relegation zone. The north Londoners are winless in seven of their last eight games, scoring nine and conceding 13.

Tottenham lost their first two Premier League games before drawing 0-0 against Nottingham Forest and Everton. Spurs then lost 3-1 at Liverpool and 3-2 against Aston Villa and had 3.8 total XG across those two matches.

De Zerbi’s side ended that mini-losing streak with a 1-1 draw at Man United. Spurs created the better chances and had 1.62-0.8 XG and Dominic Solanke scored an injury-time equaliser.

Coventry Gradually Improving

Newly promoted Coventry struggled early in the 2026/27 campaign and lost their opening four matches. The Sky Blues conceded 10 goals and failed to score in that spell.

Frank Lampard’s side have improved with back-to-back Premier League victories. That upturn started with a 1-0 win at Nottingham Forest, where Coventry faced 24 shots.

The Midlands outfit climbed up to 14th after thrashing Newcastle 4-1 at home on Monday. Jack Rudoni scored after four minutes and Sidiki Cherif, Ellis Simms and Stephen Mfuni also hit the net.

Predicted Starting Lineups & Team News

Tottenham (4-2-3-1): Antonin Kinsky; Archie Gray, Jan Paul van Hecke, Micky van de Ven, Destiny Udogie; Lucas Bergvall, Sandro Tonali; Mohammed Kudus, Conor Gallagher, Savio; Dominic Solanke

Midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur was sent off against Man United and is suspended here. Forward pair Mykhaylo Mudryk and Wilson Odobert and midfielders Xavi Simons and Dejan Kulusevski are injured.

Defender Pedro Porro is also an injury doubt. Roberto De Zerbi issued a recent update on Porro’s recovery and said, “Pedro - I think - is not [out] for many games.”

Coventry (4-2-3-1): Carl Rushworth; Milan van Ewijk, Bobby Thomas, Ethan Pinnock, Jay Dasilva; Caleb Yirenkyi, Matt Grimes; Brandon Thomas-Asante, Jack Rudoni, Ephron Mason-Clark; Sidiki Cherif

Striker Haji Wright, midfielder Josh Eccles and defenders Aurele Amenda and Luke Woolfenden are unavailable due to injury.

Striker Taiwo Awoniyi is available after his suspension, and defender Kaine Kesler-Hayden is expected to return from injury. Frank Lampard confirmed Kesler-Hayden’s return for Spurs and said, “Kaine's training with us, so he's available.”

Verdict

Tottenham and Coventry have found some good goalscoring form after slow starts to the Premier League campaign. Stick with BTTS and over 2.5 goals at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
