Falkirk vs Rangers Live Stream & Tips - Bairns to Test Gers in High-Scoring Premiership Matchup

Falkirk face Rangers in a Scottish Premiership finale with both clubs enduring poor form and defensive vulnerabilities. Recent matches point to an open game, with both teams frequently seeing matches featuring over 2.5 goals and both teams scoring. Falkirk have slumped, losing four of their last five, while Rangers have similarly lost four straight post-split games, conceding at least two in each. The main tip for this contest is BTTS and over 2.5 goals, with Falkirk potentially scoring two or more at home. Team news sees Falkirk injury-hit, while Rangers have a full squad.

Falkirk vs Rangers Predictions

Recent form suggests we can expect plenty of goalmouth action in Sunday's Premiership contest. I have my money on BTTS and over 2.5 goals, with Falkirk capable of scoring twice against a low-in-confidence Gers side.

Goals Expected at Falkirk Stadium

  • Falkirk have seen BTTS & over 2.5 goals in 5 of their last 7 matches (Premiership)
  • Falkirk have seen an average of 3.15 goals per game in their last 18 home matches (Premiership)
  • Rangers have seen BTTS & over 2.5 goals in 10 of their last 11 matches (Premiership)
  • Rangers have seen an average of 2.88 goals per game in their last 18 away matches (Premiership)
  • Rangers conceded 2+ goals in their last 6 matches

Falkirk Trail Rangers in H2H Record

Rangers and Falkirk have met on five occasions since 2016. Rangers won three of those matches, including a remarkable 6-3 win at this venue last month.

Falkirk Slump Continues

Falkirk come into Sunday's Premiership contest after a 3-0 defeat at Hearts on Wednesday evening. The Jambos were good value for their win, with goals from Frankie Kent (29'), Cameron Devlin (34') and Blair Spittal (86') securing a vital victory for the league leaders.

John McGlynn's men struggled to make much of an impact at Tynecastle, registering just four shots and a final xG total of 0.31.

The Bairns have gone off the boil in the final weeks of the Premiership season, losing four of their last five league games, conceding three goals or more in all four defeats.

Falkirk also suffered a painful Scottish Cup defeat against Dunfermline in a poor run since the start of April.

Frequently involved in high-scoring outcomes, particularly at the Falkirk Stadium, BTTS and over 2.5 goals landed in all but one of the hosts' last eight home fixtures.

Rangers Beaten Again

Rangers face their final Premiership fixture of the season after a disappointing home defeat against Hibernian on Wednesday. After Martin Boyle opened the scoring for the Hibees, Thelo Aasgaard's free-kick levelled matters before Dane Scarlett's 89th-minute goal stunned the home crowd.

The Gers were again guilty of being wasteful in front of goal. Danny Rohl's side registered 21 shots, including six on target, but were left empty-handed at Ibrox.

A dismal run of form since the end of season split has seen the Gers lose each of their last four Premiership fixtures. They had lost just two of their first 33 games this season.

Defensive issues have been the biggest concern for Rohl's side. Rangers conceded two goals or more in their last six fixtures, while they have kept just one clean sheet in 13 league games since January.

Coming into their final fixture of the season, the Gers now find themselves ten points behind second-placed Celtic, with a third-place finish now guaranteed.

Predicted Lineups and Team News

Falkirk (4-2-3-1) Nicky Hogarth; Connor Allan, Coll Donaldson, Liam Henderson, Sam Hart; Brad Spencer, Dylan Tait; Kyrell Wilson, Finn Yeats, Calvin Miller; Ben Broggio

Head coach McGlynn has several injury issues to deal with on Sunday. Leon McCann, Ethan Williams, Filip Lissah, Scott Bain and Louie Marsh are definite absentees, while Barney Stewart is a doubt.

After the 3-0 defeat at Hearts, McGlynn told BBC Sportsound: "I thought we started the game well. We created openings and made it nervy for Hearts for a good 20 minutes, I would say.

"Hearts came into it and put us under pressure from a corner kick, which is our Achilles heel right now. Then Hearts have their tails up, are rampant, and the place is buzzing.

"Overall, Hearts deserved their win. They're top of the league for a reason, have good players and are all playing together.”

Rangers (4-2-3-1) Jack Butland; Dujon Sterling, Nasser Djiga, Emmanuel Fernandez, Tuur Rommens; Connor Barron, Thelo Aasgaard; Oliver Antman, Mohamed Diomande, Mikey Moore; Youssef Chermiti

Rangers boss Rohl has a fully fit squad available this weekend. Club captain James Tavernier is unlikely to start after a midweek training ground bust-up with the German boss.

Following the defeat against Hibernian, Rohl lamented his side's form post split, which has seen the Gers lose all four fixtures.

"Today showed exactly why we need a strong, front-footed cut in the summer to change a lot of things on and off the pitch.

"When the opponent comes in our box three times, and we concede twice, and we have to work hard to create chances, this is not enough to keep us winning games.”

Verdict

A vulnerable Rangers are again likely to be involved in a high-scoring Premiership contest. BTTS and over 2.5 goals is my first pick, while I also have a stake on Falkirk to score two goals or more.
