Mamelodi Sundowns appear to be returning to their best form, highlighted by a strong run of 14 wins in 19 PSL fixtures, but they continue to concede goals regularly. Their upcoming match against Marumo Gallants, who are struggling with just one win in 19 matches, is expected to favor Sundowns, especially given their historical dominance in head-to-head encounters. The best bet is a Sundowns win with both teams scoring, as recent trends suggest open play from both sides. Key players and lineup news are also covered in the preview.

  • Sundowns have 14 wins from their last 19 matches but concede frequently.
  • Gallants have only one win in 19 games and struggle to secure victories.
  • Prediction: Sundowns win with both teams to score (BTTS).

Sundowns are slowly finding their best form again but can't seem to keep a clean sheet. BTTS is my best bet with a Sundowns win.

Sundowns On a Strong Run

  • Mamelodi Sundowns have won 14 of their last 19 PSL matches.
  • Mamelodi Sundowns have seen BTTS Yes in their last 5 PSL matches.
  • Marumo Gallants have seen BTTS Yes in 5 of their last 7 matches.
  • Marumo Gallants have lost 11 of their last 19 matches.

Sundowns Dominant

These two have met 15 times with Sundowns winning 10 and Gallants just once. There have been four draws.

Sundowns Getting Back to their Best

Sundowns have had a slow start to this season in terms of performance levels. They won the CAF Champions League last term but failed to win any domestic silverware.

Sundowns beat AS FAR Rabat 2-1 in the CAF Champions League final, winning 1-0 at home before drawing 1-1 away in the second leg. This season started with a 3-2 win over Polokwane City in the MTN8 quarter-finals.

They won 3-2 at TS Galaxy in their last league match after two late goals in a fortunate win. On Saturday, they rescued a point in a 1-1 draw at Kaizer Chiefs after trailing 1-0.

Gallants can't Buy a Win

Marumo Gallants have drawn eight of their last nine matches. In all competitions, it’s 11 defeats and just one win in the last 19 fixtures.

They drew their final seven matches of last season. A 1-1 draw at Polokwane City was followed by a 0-0 home draw versus Stellenbosch.

This season started with a 0-0 home draw vs Kruger United after missing a penalty. On Friday night, they suffered a 3-1 defeat away to Stellenbosch despite having 18 shots.

Predicted Lineups & News

Mamelodi Sundowns (4-2-3-1): Williams; Mudau, Johannes, Kekana, Modiba; Allende, T. Mokoena; Van Wyk, Santos, Matthews; Leon.

Sundowns are without Arthur Sales and Monnapule Saleng in attack. Keanu Cupido and Khulumani Ndamane are injured in defence.

Teboho Mokoena is expected to be available after an injury. Nuno Santos remains a doubt in the number ten role.

Marumo Gallants (4-3-3): Mlambo; Lukhele, Rikhotso, Sikakane, Madiba; Ndlondlo, Manaka, Mabuza; Dhludhlu, Sihlali, Kunene.

New coach Phuti Mohafe could make some changes to his XI after the defeat last time out.

Veteran midfielder Edgar Manaka could be recalled for this one. Yanga Madiba could be handed a first start at left back after being signed.

Verdict

I'm backing Both Teams to Score in a Sundowns win.
