Qingdao West Coast faces Shanghai Port in a Chinese Super League fixture expected to feature plenty of goals. Recent meetings have averaged over 5 goals per game, and both sides consistently see BTTS and high goal totals. Qingdao are building momentum but have struggled for wins, while Shanghai Port seeks consistency after a difficult start and a point deduction. Both teams are likely to score, and over 2.5 goals is the top betting tip, with a chance for even more goals based on recent statistics.

Qingdao West Coast vs Shanghai Port Predictions

Recent form and past encounters points to a likely high-scoring and entertaining CSL encounter on Saturday.

BTTS and over 2.5 goals is my best bet, while I also have a stake on over three match goals.

BTTS & Goals Expected in Qingdao

  • Qingdao West Coast have seen BTTS and over 2.5 goals in 4 of their last 5 matches (CSL)
  • Qingdao West Coast have seen over 3.5 goals in 4 of their last 5 matches (CSL)
  • Qingdao West Coast have seen BTTS and over 3.5 goals in 4 of their last 5 matches against Shanghai Port
  • Shanghai Port have seen BTTS and over 2.5 goals in their last 5 matches against Qingdao West Coast
  • Shanghai Port have seen BTTS and over 2.5 goals in 5 of their last 7 matches (CSL)

Shanghai Port Dominate High-Scoring H2H Record

Qingdao West Coast and Shanghai Port have met five times since 2024. Shanghai Port won three of those fixtures, while two matches finished level.

Shanghai claimed a 4-1 win in their first meeting of the season, while last season’s corresponding fixture finished 3-3.

An average of 5.2 goals per game was scored in their five previous fixtures.

Qingdao Building Momentum

Qingdao West Coast return to home action after an impressive 3-1 comeback win against Zhejiang in the CSL last weekend.

Zhang Aihu stunned the hosts with a seventh-minute opener before goals from Peng Xinli and Nelson Luz (2) secured the points for Zheng Zhi’s side.

Despite registering just 34% possession, West Coast were worthy winners at Guzhenkou University Sports Center. The hosts finished with more efforts on goal (14-11) and a higher xG total (2.08-0.89).

High-scoring outcomes have been frequent for the home side in recent weeks. Qingdao have scored at least two goals in three of their last four CSL fixtures, while each of their last ten matches finished with BTTS.

Sitting sixth in the Super League, Qingdao have struggled to turn draws into wins this season. Zhi’s side were held to stalemates in nine of 16 CSL games, including six of eight home fixtures.

Shanghai Port Searching for Stability

Shanghai Port make the trip to Qingdao after a 2-1 win against Henan FC in their last CSL outing. Li Xinxiang and Jean Claude Aziangbe were on the scoresheet as Kevin Muscat’s side came from behind to claim all three points at Zhengzhou Hanghai Stadium.

The Super League champions proved clinical in front of goal, scoring twice from just six efforts and an xG of 1.11.

Muscat’s men have begun to find some form after a dismal start to the defence of their crown. Port won three and lost just one of their last five matches.

Still, a lack of consistency and a five-point deduction has all but ended Shanghai’s hopes of a third successive Super League title. The Red Eagles sit 12th in the division, 25 points behind league leaders Chengdu.

Frequently involved in high-scoring encounters, an average of 3.18 goals per game were scored in Shanghai’s last 11 fixtures.

Qingdao West Coast vs Shanghai Port Team News

Qingdao West Coast: (4-2-3-1) Li Hao; Dong Yu, Samir Memisevic, Rezende, Wang Gengrui; Zhang Xiuwei, Zhang Chengdong; Nelson Da Luz, Peng Xinli, Davidson; Abdul-Aziz Yakubu

Qingdao West Coast boss Shao Jiayi could keep faith with much of the side that claimed a 3-1 win against Zhejiang. Alan, Davidson and Nelson da Luz should continue to provide the main attacking threat for the hosts.

Barak Braunshtain remains sidelined with an abdominal muscle strain.

Shanghai Port:(4-2-3-1) Yan Junling; Alex Yang, Wei Zhen, Umidjan Yusup, Li Shuai; Jean Claude Aziangbe, Mateus Vital; Li Xinxiang, Oscar Melendo, Prince Ampem; Leonardo

Port head coach Muscat reported no new injury issues after last weekend’s win against Henan.

Jean Claude Aziangbe is likely to earn a recall after a goalscoring substitute appearance last time out.

Verdict

Goals should be on the cards in a fixture that usually proves high-scoring and competitive.

I expect BTTS and over 2.5 goals, while I also have a stake on over 3.5 match goals.
