Crystal Palace are tipped to win against Hoffenheim in their upcoming Europa League match, with the main recommendation being a Palace victory. This selection is based on Palace's impressive display in their most recent Europa League home fixture, while Hoffenheim's poor away form further strengthens the case for the home side. The suggested stake is 3 units on a Crystal Palace win, highlighting the confidence in their ability to secure the result at home.

Crystal Palace vs Hoffenheim Preview

Crystal Palace are positive at home and have picked up some good recent results at Selhurst Park. The Eagles are tipped to beat a Hoffenheim side that struggles away.

Key Stats - Hoffenheim Poor Away

  • Crystal Palace have won 2 of their last 3 home games.
  • Hoffenheim have lost 4 of their last 6 away matches.

H2H - First Encounter

This will be the first-ever meeting between Crystal Palace and Hoffenheim.

Crystal Palace Have Won Recent Home Matches

Pierre Sage’s Crystal Palace have won games at Selhurst Park recently. Three of Palace’s five victories this season have come at home.

The Eagles thumped Lech Poznan 4-0 at home in their Europa League opener and had 2.23 XG and 16 shots. Palace followed that victory with a 3-1 home win against Nottingham Forest and a 2-0 loss to Newcastle.

The south Londoners hit back after the Newcastle home defeat and beat Fulham 1-0 away in the EFL Cup.

Palace couldn’t build on that triumph and lost 2-0 away at Tottenham. Jean-Philippe Mateta was sent off after 13 minutes and the Eagles conceded once in each half.

Hoffenheim Unconvincing on the Road

Bundesliga side Hoffenheim are out of form away this season and are winless in five of their seven games.

The Kraichgauers lost three away games in a row at Koln 3-2, OFI Crete 2-0 and Pederborn 3-1. They ended that streak with a 2-1 victory against the Bundesliga’s bottom side Borussia Monchengladbach.

Hoffenheim are winless in their previous two matches, both away. That run started with a 1-1 Pokal draw at Kiel.

Christian Ilzer’s team also lost 2-0 at Werder Bremen on Saturday. The Kraichgauers allowed 1.29 XG, faced 17 shots and conceded two goals in the final 35 minutes.

Predicted Starting Lineups & Team News

Crystal Palace (3-4-2-1): Dean Henderson; Chris Richards, Axel Disasi, Jaydee Canvot; Anan Khalili, Adam Wharton, Daichi Kamada, Tyrick Mitchell; Dwight McNeil, Yeremy Pino; Jean-Philippe Mateta

Defenders Chadi Riad and Takehiro Tomiyasu are out with long-term injuries. Attackers Jorgan Strand Larsen and Ismila Sarr are also unavailable due to injury.

Quinten Timber is likely to return to the squad following a hamstring issue. Pierre Sage confirmed the midfielder’s “return” to training before the Tottenham game.

Hoffenheim (3-5-2): Oliver Baumann; Ozan Kabak, Koki Machida, Mats Rots; Natnael Abraha, Andrej Kramaric, Leon Avdullahu, Wouter Burger, Adam Daghim; Adam Hlozek, Fisnik Asllani

Defenders Vladimir Coufal and Valentin Gendrey and midfielder Bambase Conte missed the Werder Bremen match. The trio are injury doubts for Palace.

Midfielder Nathan De Cat is unavailable with a knee problem and defender Albian Hajdari is out due to a foot injury.

Verdict

Crystal Palace showed their quality in their most recent Europa League home game. Hoffenheim are a poor away team and there’s value on Palace to win on Thursday.
