The 2025 Austrian Alpine Open at Golfclub Kitzbühel-Schwarzsee-Reith marks its inaugural hosting of a DP World Tour event. Defending champion Nicolai von Dellingshausen is back, but four in-form golfers—Eugenio Lopez-Chacarra, Jacob Olesen, Martin Couvra, and Alejandro del Rey—are strong contenders based on recent performances. The key recommendation is to watch these four, as each has been showing the form needed to potentially secure victory in Austria this weekend.

The Austrian Alpine Open title at Golfclub Kitzbühel-Schwarzsee-Reith for the first time this weekend from May 28-31 with four best bets picked out for the DP World Tour event.

Nicolai von Dellingshausen is back to defend his title after a two-stroke victory over Kristoffer Reitan and Marcel Schneider in 2025.

Golfclub Kitzbühel-Schwarzsee-Reith hosted the Kitzbühel Golf Alpin Open on the European Challenge Tour in 2003 and steps up to DP World Tour level for the first time.

These are our four selections that could win the title this weekend.

Eugenio Lopez-Chacarra

Eugenio Lopez-Chacarra had a solid start to his new season on the DP World Tour, placing T28 at the Nedbank Golf Challenge, 3rd at the Alfred Dunhill Championship, T25 at the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open, and T15 at the Dubai Invitational.

Lopez-Chacarra struggled with his game after those performances, with results of MC at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic, T41 at the Bahrain Championship, and MC at the Qatar Masters.

However, the 26-year-old has been in decent nick lately, finishing T21 at the Puerto Rico Open (PGA Tour), MC at the Hainan Classic, 2nd at the Hero Indian Open, T9 at the Tulum Championship (Korn Ferry Tour), T33 at the Volvo China Open, T18 at the Turkish Airlines Open, T10 at the Catalunya Championship, and T22 at the Soudal Open last weekend.

The Spaniard finished T27 at the 2025 Austrian Alpine Open on debut.

Lopez-Chacarra has been showing signs that he is ready to win another DP World Tour title.

Jacob Olesen

Jacob Olesen struggled to find rhythm in his game at the beginning of the DP World Tour season, finishing T40 at the Nedbank Golf Challenge, T40 at the Alfred Dunhill Championship, MC at the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open, T30 at the Dubai Invitational, MC at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic, and T47 at the Bahrain Championship.

However, Olesen has been in excellent form since those performances, placing T3 at the Qatar Masters, T5 at the Magical Kenya Open, T63 at the Investec South African Open Championship, T36 at the Joburg Open, T16 at the Hero Indian Open, T4 at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, T4 at the Turkish Airlines Open, MC at the Catalunya Championship, and T2 at the Soudal Open last weekend.

The Dane finished T42 at the 2025 Austrian Alpine Open on debut.

Olesen can convert his recent performances into a winning result at Golfclub Kitzbühel-Schwarzsee-Reith.

Martin Couvra

Martin Couvra was there and thereabouts at the beginning of his DP World Tour season, finishing T30 at the Nedbank Golf Challenge, T7 at the Alfred Dunhill Championship, T42 at the Dubai Invitational, T10 at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic, T24 at the Bahrain Championship, MC at the Qatar Masters, T29 at the Investec South African Open Championship, and MC at the Joburg Open.

Couvra has improved as the year has progressed, placing T9 at the Hainan Classic, T20 at the Hero Indian Open, T20 at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans (PGA Tour), T43 at the Turkish Airlines Open, T10 at the Catalunya Championship, and T24 at the Soudal Open last weekend.

The Frenchman placed a solid T8 overall at the 2025 Austrian Alpine Open on debut.

Couvra has shown signs that he is ready to produce a big performance lately and make the frame in Austria come Sunday.

Alejandro del Rey

Alejandro del Rey had a fair start to his season on the DP World Tour, finishing T23 at the Nedbank Golf Challenge, T40 at the Alfred Dunhill Championship, T42 at the Dubai Invitational, T26 at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic, T34 at the Bahrain Championship, MC at the Qatar Masters, and T56 at the Magical Kenya Open.

Del Rey has found another gear since then, placing T14 at the Investec South African Open Championship, T57 at the Joburg Open, T8 at the Volvo China Open, T29 at the Turkish Airlines Open, and T3 at the Catalunya Championship.

The Spaniard has made two appearances at the Austrian Alpine Open, finishing T24 in 2024 before missing the cut in 2025.

Del Rey has been in the mix in recent outings and can emerge victorious in Austria this weekend.

Verdict

Lopez-Chacarra has done nothing wrong lately and can win his second career DP World Tour title come Sunday.

Olesen has been knocking hard in recent outings and could win the Austrian Alpine Open title this weekend.

Couvra has the form to upstage the others with a victory at Golfclub Kitzbühel-Schwarzsee-Reith.

Del Rey has come good with his game lately and will fancy his chances of lifting the trophy in Austria come Sunday.
