The DP World Tour and players return to Brisbane to compete in the 89th edition of the BMW Australian PGA Championship. Who will win the title in Queensland this weekend?

Elvis Smylie returns to defend his title after a two-stroke victory over Cameron Smith in 2024.

These are our four selections that could win the title this weekend.

Min Woo Lee

Min Woo Lee has been in solid form on the DP World Tour and PGA Tour in his last four starts, placing T11 at the BMW PGA Championship, T5 at the FedEx Open de France, MC at the Sanderson Farms Championship and T10 at the Baycurrent Classic.

Other prominent performances achieved by Min Woo Lee this year include T17 at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic, T17 at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, T12 at the WM Phoenix Open, T11 at the Cognizant Classic, T20 at the Players Championship and winning the Texas Children's Houston Open.

The Australian has compiled an impressive record at the BMW Australian PGA Championship, including T3 in 2019, T4 in 2022, T4 in 2022, victory in 2023, and T15 in 2024.

Min Woo Lee has the form to secure the title at the Royal Queensland Golf Club this weekend.

Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen

Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen has regained his touch lately after a few inconsistent performances, placing T5 at the Open de España, T65 at the Genesis Championship, T23 at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship, and T3 at the DP World Tour Championship.

Other noteworthy results achieved by Neergaard-Petersen on the DP World Tour and PGA Tour this year include T10 at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic, 2nd at the Qatar Masters, 2nd at the Puerto Rico Open and T22 at the Valspar Championship.

He was also T10 at the Volvo China Open, T4 at the Hainan Classic, T12 at the U.S. Open, T14 at the BMW International Open, T16 at the Danish Golf Championship, T13 at the Betfred British Masters, T8 at the Omega European Masters and a T20 at the BMW PGA Championship.

The Dane finished T8 overall at the BMW Australian PGA Championship on debut.

Neergaard-Petersen has done nothing wrong in 2025 and could emerge victorious in Brisbane come Sunday.

Marc Leishman

Marc Leishman has been playing well on the PGA Tour of Australasia and the Asian Tour lately, placing T3 at the Western Australian Open, 6th at the International Series in the Philippines, and T11 at the PIF Saudi International last weekend.

Other notable results achieved by Leishman on the LIV Golf Tour this year include T12 in Hong Kong, winning in Miami, T10 in Virginia, T11 in the United Kingdom and T13 in Chicago.

The six-time PGA Tour winner has compiled an impressive record at the Australian PGA Championship, finishing T14 in 2010, T6 in 2011, T8 in 2012, T11 in 2013, T11 in 2014, T21 in 2016, T4 in 2017, 2nd in 2018, T12 in 2022, 3rd in 2023 and T3 in 2024.

Leishman has been showing signs that he is ready to return to the winner's circle.

Daniel Hillier

Daniel Hillier has been thereabouts on the DP World Tour lately, placing T23 at the Open de España, T9 at the DP World India Championship, T38 at the Genesis Championship, T5 at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship, and T16 at the DP World Tour Championship.

Additional highlights achieved by Hillier this year include T24 at the Bahrain Championship, T25 at the Qatar Masters, T12 at the New Zealand Open, T9 at the Hainan Classic, and T26 at the KLM Open.

The 27-year-old New Zealander has yet to have an impact at the BMW Australian PGA Championship, finishing T36 in 2019, T70 in 2022, T61 in 2023 and T43 in 2024.

Hillier has not been far off lately from winning his second DP World Tour title.

Verdict

Min Woo Lee comes into this event in great shape and can lift the winner's trophy in Brisbane this Sunday.

Neergaard-Petersen has been playing consistently well this year and can go all the way in Queensland this weekend.

Leishman can win the title this weekend, as he loves playing at the Royal Queensland Golf Club.

Hillier has the form to surprise the others with a victory at the Australian PGA Championship come Sunday.
