Detroit Lions 2-1 After Rebounding From First Loss

Detroit head to Carolina looking to build on last weekend’s win over the New York Jets, which improved them to 2-1.

The Lions opened the season with a home game against New Orleans, and edged a thrilling clash with the Saints in overtime, 31-30.

They failed to follow that up in their road opener, as they lost 41-31 in Buffalo, but they were able to bounce back at the first attempt.

Detroit returned home last weekend and were able to see off a stubborn Jets team, winning 31-24.

Jared Goff went 25/32 for 269 yards and touchdowns, but the star of the show was undoubtedly Jahmyr Gibbs, who racked up 164 total yards and three touchdowns.

Carolina Panthers Slipped To 1-2 Last Weekend

Carolina return home looking to issue an immediate response to their second defeat of the season.

The Panthers kicked off the campaign at home and were run over Chicago, losing 59-37 to the Bears.

They rebounded a week later on the road, recording a 34-3 blowout of division rivals Atlanta, but they were unable to follow that up last weekend.

Carolina suffered a 21-18 defeat in Cleveland that saw quarterback Bryce Young take a bunch of hits while getting sacked three times.

Young finished the game 26/48 for 291 yards, one touchdown and one interception, while Chuba Hubbard put up 110 total yards out of the backfield.

Injuries are taking their toll on this Detroit defense, but Jared Goff and Jahmyr Gibbs have done a good job in covering for that.

This Panthers team was run over by the Bears in the season opener, so we expect the Lions to lean on Gibbs as they win a Sunday Night Football shootout.
