The Bulls are still searching for their first Currie Cup win of the season and face an inconsistent Stormers side under pressure to keep their playoff hopes intact. While the Stormers lead the overall head-to-head, their away form has been poor, with nine consecutive losses on the road and three straight defeats at the Bulls' home. Despite recent struggles, the Bulls have been strong at home and have won the last three meetings against the Stormers. Backing the Bulls to secure their first win is a strong recommendation.

The Bulls are yet to taste victory in the Currie Cup this season but this could be their chance against a Stormers side under pressure to win to keep their playoff hopes alive.

Key Stats - Bulls Backed for First Win

  • Bulls have won 3 of their last 5 home matches (Currie Cup).
  • Bulls have won 3 consecutive games against the Stormers (Currie Cup).
  • Stormers have lost 9 consecutive away fixtures (Currie Cup).
  • Stormers have lost 3 of their last 4 away matches to the Bulls (Currie Cup).

Stormers Lead H2H

The Stormers have a slight edge over the Vodacom Bulls, with 19 victories to 13 in 32 meetings in the Carling Currie Cup since 2010.

Bulls Horrific in 2026

The Bulls were outplayed in the first half against the Cheetahs last weekend, trailing 47-17 at the break before mounting a comeback in the second stanza, but they fell short, losing 62-52 at home.

Before that, the team from Pretoria lost to Boland 24-10 away from home in their Currie Cup opener and were thrashed 56-26 by the Griquas in Kimberley before losing 42-19 to the Lions away and 33-31 to the Pumas at home.

The Bulls are last in the Carling Currie Cup standings with four points from five matches.

The Vodacom Bulls have struggled this season, but they have played their best rugby at home, coming up short on both occasions; however, they have registered three consecutive victories against the Stormers.

Stormers Inconcistent

The Stormers XXIII had no answer in their Currie Cup match against the Pumas last weekend, losing 29-7 away from home after trailing 16-0 at half-time.

Before that, the Stormers started their campaign with a 25-19 home victory over the defending champions, the Griquas, lost 41-3 away to Boland, and beat the Sharks 36-28 at home before losing 31-26 to the Cheetahs at home.

Stormers XXIII are sixth in the Currie Cup table with 11 points from five matches.

The Stormers have lacked consistency during their campaign, and have been poor on the road so far, which could be their undoing, having lost nine in a row away from home, including losing three of their last four visits to Pretoria.

Riyaad Bam, Siphosethu Mnebelele, Kebotile Maake, Brooklyn Newman, Nizaam Carr, and Devon Williams each scored a try in the match.

The team for the Stormers will be added once it has been announced.
