England vs Australia Betting Tips - England set for home victory over Wallabies in Nations Championship

England are tipped to cover the -8.5 handicap against Australia in their upcoming rugby fixture. England's recent form in the Six Nations was poor, but they have a strong set piece and a dominant record against Australia, winning 11 of their last 13 encounters. Australia, despite some improvements, suffered heavy defeats to New Zealand in the Bledisloe Cup, conceding 50 and 43 points. Both teams have struggled for consistency, but England's home advantage and historical success provide the main reasons for this selection.

Australia are still trying to find their best combinations and are nowhere near where they need to be, as was proven recent against the All Blacks. England struggled in the Six Nations, losing four of five matches, but at home, I see them covering with a superior set piece.

Key Stats - England & Australia struggling for Form

  • England have lost 5 of their last matches.
  • England have won 11 of their last 13 matches against Australia.
  • Australia have lost their last 2 matches.
  • Australia have conceded 38, 50 & 43 points in their last 3 matches.

England Huge Advantage

England have won 11 of their last 13 fixtures against Australia.

England Woeful Six Nations

It has not been a good 2026 for England who went into the Six Nations this year as favourites alongside France after their superb 2025 season.

However, after beating Wales in round one, England lost in Scotland, at home to Ireland, away to Italy and away to France. While their performance against the French showed what a quality side they were, the inconsistency of the group came in for much criticism.

During the summer July window, England lost 45-21 to South Africa, beat Fiji 73-8 and won 31-24 against Argentina, reinstalling some confidence within the group.

Australia off the Back of Poor Bledisloe Cup

Australia have had some notable results as their improvement continues ahead of their home World Cup in 2027.

After the opening three rounds of the Nations Championship, Australia beat Japan twice before winning a two-match series 1-0 against Argentina. The second game ended in a draw.

The Wallabies biggest results came in late September, beating South Africa 42-38 in Perth. It showed they had the quality within their ranks, regardless of South Africa fielding a weakened lineup.

However, all that positivity came crashing down in the Bledisloe Cup as New Zealand thrashed Australia 50-19 and 43-21.

Verdict

While both sides form has been on the poor end of the scale, I am backing England to cover the -8.5 handicap.
