The Griquas currently lead the Currie Cup standings after an impressive run, including a 31-19 victory against the Lions and nine straight home wins. Historically, the Sharks lead the head-to-head, but have struggled in away games, losing seven of their last eight on the road and three consecutive times in Kimberley. The Griquas, with 16 points from four matches, are favored to cover the -10.5 handicap at home against a Sharks team that sits fifth, making them strong favorites for another comfortable win.

Griquas Superb start to Currie Cup

The Griquas climbed to the top of the table after facing the Lions at home last weekend, winning 31-19 after leading 13-7 at the break.

Before that result, the defending champions lost 25-19 to the Stormers XXIII away from home in their opening match of the season before thumping the Bulls 56-26 and beating the Cheetahs at home, respectively.

The Suzuki Griquas are first in the Currie Cup table with 16 points from four matches.

The Griquas have been playing well at home this season, winning all their matches, and they are on a three-match winning streak against the Sharks in Kimberley.

Sharks hoping for Back-to-Back Wins

The Hollywoodbets Sharks registered their first victory of the season last weekend, beating Boland 19-12 at home after leading 14-5 at half-time.

Earlier in their campaign, the team from Durban narrowly defeated the Pumas 26-24 away from home before losing 43-21 to the Cheetahs and 36-28 to the Stormers XXIII.

The Hollywoodbets Sharks are fifth in the Currie Cup standings with 11 points after four rounds.

The Sharks will be pleased to have picked up their first win of their campaign, but face a tough assignment away from home against the Griquas, as their opponents are on a nine-match winning streak in their own backyard.
