The Lions are expected to bounce back at home after losing to table-toppers Griquas, leveraging their impressive home record of seven wins in their last eight matches. Their opposition, the Boland Cavaliers, have struggled away from home, losing four consecutive Currie Cup away fixtures. Both teams are mid-table, but with recent history and form favoring the Lions, they are backed to cover the -11.5 handicap. Lions lost to Table-Topping Griquas last Week

The Lions faced the Griquas in a top-of-the-table clash in Kimberley last weekend, losing 31-19 after trailing 13-7 at half-time.

Earlier in their campaign, the Golden Lions fell short in their season opener, losing 29-27 to the Cheetahs away from home before beating the Pumas 52-29 at home and the Bulls 42-19 at home.

The Fidelity ADT Lions are third in the Carling Currie Cup standings with 12 points from four matches.

The Lions have been in excellent form at home and will fancy their chances to return to winning ways when they host Boland this weekend, having crushed their opponents in last season's semi-final 67-19.

Boland Struggle on the Road

The Sanlam Boland Cavaliers suffered back-to-back defeats in the Currie Cup last weekend, losing 19-12 to the Sharks in Durban after trailing 14-5 at the break.

Before that result, Boland played three matches at home. They defeated the Bulls 24-10 and the Stormers XXIII 41-35 before losing 20-15 to the Pumas.

The Boland Cavaliers are fifth in the Carling Currie Cup table with 11 points after four rounds.

Boland will aim to return to winning ways after their recent defeats but will have to play well to beat the Lions away from home, as their opponents have recorded seven victories in their last eight matches in Johannesburg.
