Daniil Medvedev has won two titles this year but endured a torrid trip to Indian Wells after being stranded in Dubai.

Medvedev Makes it to Indian Wells

Daniil Medvedev is 13-3 this year, winning the Brisbane International before being thrashed 6-4 6-0 6-3 by Learner Tien in the Australian Open fourth round.

The Russian went out early in Rotterdam and Doha but bounced back to win the title in Dubai.

The 30-year-old didn’t drop a set, crushing Jenson Brooksby 6-2 6-1 and top seed Felix Auger Aliassime 6-4 6-2. He didn’t have to feature in the final following Tallon Griekspoor’s withdrawal.

Medvedev eventually made it to Indian Wells after driving to Oman and flying to Los Angeles via Istanbul.

Fast Start for Tabilo

Alejandro Tabilo has played a lot of tennis this year, going 17-7 with the majority of those on clay. He reached the quarter-finals in Buenos Aires and Santiago.

The Chilean went close to winning the title in Rio de Janeiro, getting to the final where he went down 3-6 7-6 6-4 to Tomas Martin Etcheverry.

The 28-year-old got through a tricky test in Indian Wells, dominating Rafael Jodar 6-1 6-2 in 58 minutes without allowing a break point

Tabilo will need to overcome a poor record against Top 20 players on hard courts. He has gone 1-18, the victory coming against Lorenzo Musetti in the 2025 Chengdu Open final.
