UFC Fight Night Preview
The main event sees form light-heavyweight champion Magomed Ankalaev take on another top-five contender in Khalil Rountree Jr.
Ankalaev reached the summit in the 205lb division last March when he out-pointed Alex Pereira over five rounds, but his reign proved to be a brief one as he surrendered the title back to the Brazilian via first round knockout in October.
That was only the second defeat of the 34-year-old Russian’s careers, and he will be looking to issue an immediate response when he steps back inside the Octagon.
Standing opposite him is another of the top contenders in the division – a man who also has a title fight loss to Pereira on his record.
Rountree Jr earned his way into contention with a five-fight win streak between September 2021 and December 2023, but he failed to make his way to the summit as he was knocked out by Pereira in their October 2024 title fight.
He rebounded with a decision win over Jamahal Hill, only to then suffer a third-round knockout loss to Jiri Prochazka last October.
Can Rountree Jr respond to that loss with the biggest victory of his career so far, or will Ankalaev stake his claim for a shot at becoming a two-time champion?
