How quickly can the longest standing Taipan Sam Waardenberg have an effect on Cairns’ season? The Taipans year was turned on its ankle when Waardenburg went down in the preseason but all of the chatter heading into the game against the JackJumpers is about their big man’s return.

Tasmania JackJumpers Unpredictability Evident

After a poor first quarter, where they opened the flood gates to South East Melbourne, conceding 36 points to the 27 they scored, the Jackjumpers locked down after the break.

They held the Phoenix to no more than 18 points in each of the following three quarter, winning the match at a 6.5-point underdog by 8 points, 89-81.

It was the Jackies second win in three games after losing 6 straight prior. Scott Roth will now want to see some consistency from his men as they look to strengthen their position in the second half of the season.

All the JackJumpers focus has been on lifting their offence out of 9th place in scoring, however, maybe Tassie just need to get back to what they do best and play shutdown basketball just as they did against SEM.
