Croatia bounced back emphatically on Friday by thrashing Cyprus 123-50 on the road, with both Ivica Zubac and Dario Saric recording double-doubles.
Israel Struggling Against Big Guns
Israel enter the final round with a 2-3 record, earning both of their victories against minnows Cyprus (94-54 and 83-54), while struggling whenever they faced stronger opposition.
They opened the campaign with a heavy 89-69 defeat to Germany in Ulm, committing 20 turnovers and allowing the Germans to attempt 20 more field goals. That was followed by an 85-71 defeat to Croatia on a neutral court in Riga, where they were outrebounded 38-27 despite Roman Sorkin contributing 20 points and three rebounds.
On Friday, the Blue and Whites trailed Germany by 21 points entering the final quarter but nearly completed an incredible comeback before eventually falling 92-86.
