Melbourne were shaky in their 89-85 win over Cairns on Thursday. The game was decided at the death with the Taipans having an opportunity to equal or take the lead but turned the ball over on consecutive possessions allowing United to seal the deal.

United did give minutes to all 13 players eligible in the most recent outing which can account for some of the defensive mishaps.

The Hawks were beaten soundly 120-94 by Sydney on Friday in their final home game of the season.

Illawarra allowed their opponent to jump out to an early lead which was only extended in the 4th quarter. 

Some players still played with hustle and pride but it’s easy to see they season is over and the majority of players are ready for a break.
