The article analyses two evenly matched teams, highlighting that Milano is likely to be more driven to secure a win and end their current losing streak. Based on roster comparisons and recent form, the key recommendation is to favor Milano for a home win with a -2.5 handicap as the best betting option.

Match Preview

Even though we are still in the very early stages of the season, this could be a decisive match for Milano in determining whether they stand any chance in the Top 10 race. Barcelona lost their last head-to-head meeting against the Italian side at this venue, going down 87-84 in March.

Milano Under Pressure After Poor Start

Milano are off to a disastrous start in the new EuroLeague campaign, claiming just one victory in their six appearances so far. There were even rumors that Guiseppe Poeta was close to losing his job, but the club denied them last week.

Their only victory came in late September at home against fellow Italian rivals Virtus Bologna, winning 87-85. They then suffered back-to-back defeats to Baskonia 86-76 and Maccabi Tel Aviv 97-79 in early October.

In last week's double-round action, Milano had no answer for Real Madrid's offense, losing 98-89 in front of their home crowd. Another defeat followed in Italy on Thursday against Dubai, with the hosts going down 101-97. Garrison Mathews kept them in the game against the UAE champions but lacked support, finishing the clash with 21 points and six rebounds.

Barcelona Holding Their Own Despite Tough Schedule

A lot of experts predicted a very rough start for Barcelona in the EuroLeague, but Blaugrana have made a solid impression despite a tough schedule, claiming three victories in six rounds.

They had mixed results in last week's double-round action, starting with a dramatic 90-87 home victory against Maccabi Tel Aviv, where Justin Robinson landed a three-pointer with just one second left on the clock.

Almost an identical scenario unfolded on Friday when Barca hosted reigning European champions Olympiakos. Robinson hit a three-pointer to force overtime, where the Spanish giants ultimately lost 105-100. Josh Nebo also delivered a great performance with 11 points and 10 rebounds.

Verdict

Looking at these two teams and their rosters, I believe they are evenly matched, but I expect Milano to be much more motivated to end their losing run. A home win with a -2.5 handicap is the best bet.
