Hyperliquid Review

Hyperliquid is a decentralised crypto trading platform offering perpetual futures and spot markets through a wallet-based interface.

The platform is built for active crypto traders who want on-chain trading, competitive fees, advanced order types and access to a wide range of digital asset markets. It is not a sportsbook, casino or beginner trading app.

New users can enter the Hyperliquid referral code NEWBONUS to receive a 4% discount on trading fees for their first $25M in volume.

Perpetual futures and crypto trading involve a high risk of loss. Users should only trade if they understand leverage, liquidation risk, wallet security and the rules in their own jurisdiction.

Hyperliquid is best suited to experienced crypto traders who want decentralised perpetual futures, spot markets, wallet-based access and competitive fees.

Its main strengths are the trading interface, on-chain order book, low base fees and advanced trading tools. The main drawbacks are the lack of fiat deposits, no US access, a steep learning curve and the risks that come with leveraged crypto trading.

Hyperliquid Verdict

Hyperliquid is a strong crypto-native trading platforms for experienced users who want decentralised perpetual futures, spot trading, wallet-based access and competitive fees.

Its main strengths are the trading interface, on-chain order-book model, broad market access and fee structure. The NEWBONUS referral code adds a useful extra discount by reducing eligible trading fees by 4% for the first $25M in trading volume.

The platform is not for everyone. There is no fiat deposit option, no standard account login, no US access and no beginner-friendly safety net. Anyone using leverage needs to understand liquidation risk before opening a position.

For experienced crypto traders, Hyperliquid is a serious trading venue. For casual users or beginners, it is a platform to approach carefully.

What is Hyperliquid?

Hyperliquid is a decentralised exchange focused on perpetual futures and spot trading.

Unlike a traditional centralised exchange, Hyperliquid does not use a standard email-and-password account system. Users connect a crypto wallet, deposit supported assets and trade through the Hyperliquid interface.

The platform runs on its own Layer-1 blockchain infrastructure. Its core trading system is built around an on-chain order book, with orders, trades and liquidations recorded transparently on-chain.

Who is Hyperliquid Best For?

Hyperliquid is best for experienced crypto traders who already understand wallets, USDC deposits, perpetual futures, margin, leverage and liquidation risk.

It may suit users who want an on-chain order-book trading experience, active perpetuals markets and lower trading fees. It is less suitable for beginners, fiat-first users or anyone looking for a simple sportsbook-style account.

Hyperliquid Referral Code

The Hyperliquid referral code is NEWBONUS.

New users can enter this code through Hyperliquid’s referral system to receive a 4% discount on eligible trading fees for their first $25M in cumulative trading volume.

This is a fee discount, not a deposit bonus. It does not give users free crypto, free bets, free spins or guaranteed trading profit.

The discount applies to eligible trading fees on the main account. It does not apply to vaults or sub-accounts.

Our Hyperliquid Test: $3,000 Deposit and 24-Hour Trading Review

To test Hyperliquid properly, we used a fresh account and deposited around $3,000 USDC.

The account traded HYPE-PERP using 10x leverage and generated $318,750.35 in 24-hour cumulative trading volume. At the time of review, the account showed a positive PNL of $494.67, with total equity of $3,550.10.

Those figures are useful because they show how Hyperliquid performed during a real trading session. The platform handled the trading volume without obvious execution issues during the test window, and the deposit from Arbitrum confirmed quickly.

However, the trading result should not be treated as typical, expected or repeatable. Perpetual futures are volatile, and the same leverage can produce losses just as quickly as gains. The most relevant point for this review is the trading experience and the impact of fees.

At Hyperliquid’s base Tier 0 taker fee of 0.045%, $318,750.35 of taker volume would produce around $143.44 in fees before any referral discount. With the NEWBONUS 4% fee discount applied, that fee cost would be reduced by around $5.74.

That is the practical value of the code. It reduces trading costs, but it does not reduce market risk.

Hyperliquid Markets and Products

Hyperliquid offers two main trading products:

  • Perpetual futures
  • Spot trading

Perpetual futures are the platform’s flagship product. These contracts allow traders to speculate on crypto price movements without owning the underlying asset. Traders can also use leverage, which increases both potential upside and downside risk.

Spot trading is also available. This allows users to buy and sell crypto assets directly, without opening a leveraged derivatives position.

Hyperliquid lists a broad range of crypto markets, including major assets and smaller digital asset markets. Market availability, leverage and liquidity can vary by asset.

Hyperliquid Perpetual Futures

Perpetual futures are the main reason many traders use Hyperliquid.

The platform supports long and short trading, leverage, margin management and advanced order types. Depending on the market, leverage can reach up to 50x, although using high leverage carries significant liquidation risk.

Common order and trading features include:

  • Market orders
  • Limit orders
  • Stop-loss orders
  • Take-profit orders
  • Trailing stops
  • Scaled orders
  • TWAP execution
  • Cross margin
  • Isolated margin

These tools make Hyperliquid more suitable for experienced traders than casual users.

Hyperliquid Spot Trading

Hyperliquid also offers spot markets.

Spot trading allows users to buy and sell crypto assets directly. It does not carry the same liquidation mechanics as perpetual futures, although users are still exposed to crypto price volatility.

Spot volume also matters for fee-tier calculations. Hyperliquid’s fee documentation states that spot and perpetuals volume are counted together for fee-tier purposes, with spot volume counting double.

Hyperliquid Fees

Hyperliquid uses a maker-taker fee model.

A maker order adds liquidity to the order book. A taker order removes liquidity by matching against an existing order. Taker fees are usually higher than maker fees.

At the base tier, Hyperliquid currently lists:

Product Taker Fee Maker Fee
Perpetuals 0.05% 0.02%
Spot 0.07% 0.04%

HYPE Token and Staking

HYPE is the native token of the Hyperliquid ecosystem.

It is used for staking, governance, gas, validator economics and trading-fee discounts. Users who stake HYPE may qualify for additional fee reductions, depending on the amount staked.

This can make HYPE staking relevant for active traders, but it also introduces extra token exposure. The value of HYPE can rise or fall, and staking may carry its own risks.

Hyperliquid Website and Login

Hyperliquid does not use a traditional login system.

Users connect a compatible crypto wallet, sign an in-app message and access the trading interface through that wallet. This makes onboarding fast for users who already understand Web3 wallets, but less familiar for anyone used to standard sportsbook, casino or exchange accounts.

The trading interface is built around an order book, price chart, order ticket, asset list and open positions panel. It is more similar to a professional trading terminal than a simple betting or casino account page.

Supported wallet options include commonly used browser and mobile wallets, plus WalletConnect-compatible options.

Hyperliquid App and Mobile Trading

Hyperliquid’s web app is mobile-responsive and can be used through a mobile browser with a compatible wallet.

This allows users to monitor positions, manage trades and connect through mobile wallet apps. However, anyone trading leveraged products on mobile should take care, as small screen sizes can make order entry, margin settings and position management easier to misread.

A dedicated native app may be available depending on region and rollout status, but users should only follow official Hyperliquid links when downloading or connecting anything.

undefined

Hyperliquid Deposits and Withdrawals

Hyperliquid is crypto-only.

Users typically deposit USDC through supported blockchain networks. In our test, a deposit of around $3,000 USDC from Arbitrum confirmed inside two minutes.

Because Hyperliquid is wallet-based, users should be confident with network selection, bridging, gas fees and wallet security before depositing funds.

Hyperliquid Customer Support

Hyperliquid support is different from a traditional bookmaker or casino support setup.

The main support routes are:

  • Official documentation
  • In-app support resources
  • Discord community channels
  • Official X account for announcements
  • Help-centre tickets where available

There is no conventional live chat experience in the same way users might expect from a sportsbook or online casino. Users should also be careful of fake support accounts, especially on Telegram, Discord and X.

Is Hyperliquid Legit?

Hyperliquid is an established decentralised crypto trading platform with a significant presence in the on-chain derivatives market. It offers real trading products, an active order-book interface and a native token ecosystem.

That does not mean it is risk-free.

Users should understand the main risks before trading:

  • Losses from leveraged positions
  • Liquidation risk
  • Crypto price volatility
  • Smart-contract and blockchain risk
  • Wallet security risk
  • Bridge and network errors
  • Regulatory or jurisdiction restrictions
  • No traditional account recovery process

Hyperliquid may be legitimate as a trading venue, but it is still a high-risk product category.
