Derek Chisora Form
Derek Chisora is a former world heavyweight title challenger with a professional record of 35-13 (23 KOs).
Chisora first challenged for the world title back in February 2012, when he went the distance in a losing effort against Vitali Klitschko.
He lost his next fight too, as he was knocked out by David Haye in the fifth round, but rebounded over the following year as he won five straight fights.
That run was ended by a 10th round stoppage loss to Tyson Fury in 2014, but he again bounced back quickly and reeled off five consecutive wins.
Chisora’s win streak was ended by a split decision loss to Kubrat Pulev, and he then struggled for consistency over the next couple of years before finally winning three straight in 2019.
That set up a meeting with heavyweight newcomer Oleksandr Usyk, and ‘Del Boy’ fell to a points loss on the night.
He then dropped a decision to Joseph Parker, only to rebound with a split decision success against Kubrat Pulev that earned him another crack at becoming world heavyweight champion.
This time, in December 2022, he was knocked out by Tyson Fury in the 10th round of their bout.
Chisora has not lost since though, backing up a points win over Gerald Washington in the summer of 2023 with a decision success against Joey Joyce in July 2024.
Otto Wallin Form
Otto Wallin is a Swedish heavyweight fighter with a professional boxing record of 27-2 (15 KOs) with 1 No Contest.
Wallin won the first 20 fights of his career before seeing his April 2019 bout with Nick Kisner go to a No Contest due to an early cut sustained by his opponent.
In his next outing he shared the ring with Tyson Fury and put up a credible effort as he went the distance in a losing effort.
He bounced back in the summer of 2020 with a fifth-round stoppage of Travis Kauffman, and that proved to be the start of a six-fight win streak.
Wallin’s run included a points win over former world title challenger Dominic Breazeale and a split decision success against ex-cruiserweight world champion Murat Gassiev.
His run was brought to a halt in December 2023 though, when he was knocked out in the fifth round by Anthony Joshua, but he did bounce back last year with a first-round stoppage of Onoriode Ehwarieme.
Verdict
Derek Chisora sprung an upset when he beat Joe Joyce last year, but we are not expecting repeat scenes here.
Otto Wallin has the size and reach advantage that will allow him to keep Chisora at range and avoid the fire-fight that ‘Del Boy’ wants to force.
