It looked, for a large part of the third match, that India would cruise to a series win with a comfortably victory at The Oval. However, England came storming back into the game to defend their score of 171 by 6 runs. 

The game was set up by Sophia Dunkley and Danni Wyatt-Hodge’s opening partnership of 137 in just 15.2 overs but India somehow took nine wickets in the last 28 balls to keep England to 171. 

England Form

England will look at the form of their middle order. Apart from Dunkley and Wyatt-Hodge, Sophie Ecclestone was the next best batter with 10. 

With the ball, Lauren Filer was exceptional with 2 for 30 from her four overs. Ecclestone kept the pressure with 1 for 24 from her quota while Lauren Bell defended 12 off the final over.

England may look at some changes to their middle order to bring in more stability. 

India Form

India’s top-order batters continued their exceptional run of strong scores, led by Smriti Mandhana’s 56. Shafali Verma gave her able company with 47 off just 25 balls at the top of the order. 

Deepti Sharma and Arundhati Reddy took three wickets apiece to put a halt on England’s scoring in the end overs.
