England have been very strong during the World Cup, only losing to tournament favourites, Australia. They also annihilated South Africa in their opening game a few weeks back. Despite the good form of South Africa, I am backing England to reach the final.

Amy Jones scored a magnificent 86 off 92 balls to guide England home for an eight-wicket win with 20.1 overs in the bank.

England Women are in good form and are unlikely to make any changes to their team. 

South Africa Women Form


After winning five matches in a row, South Africa ended their group stage commitments with a heavy defeat to Australia.

Laura Wolvaardt top-scored with 31 off 26 balls, but with only Sinalo Jafta (29 off 17) and Nadine de Klerk (14) scoring above six, they were bowled out for 97 off 24 overs. 

Marizanne Kapp (1/11) and Masabata Klaas (1/14) gave South Africa a glimmer of hope by reducing Australia to 11/2, but they could not prevent them from securing a seven-wicket win off just 16.5 overs.

Nadine de Klerk has been spectacular with the bat, smashing the most sixes in the tournament (10), while scoring 174 runs (ave 134.58). 

Verdict

I am backing England Women to win. I am also backing Heather Knight to top score for England Women.

Laura Wolvaardt is a good bet to top score for the South Africa Women.
