Outside of losing Major 4, LA Thieves have been phenomenal and are rightly viewed as a serious threat to OpTic’s title aspirations.
Paris Gentle Mates are not to be ignored either. Even though they’ve looked shaky for most of the season, failing to show much since winning Major 1, Paris Gentle Mates have made the necessary roster changes for Stage 4 and re-emerged as one of CDL’s top squads.
Despite failing to catch up with OpTic and the Thieves, Paris Gentle Mates have shown improvement ahead of the Call of Duty Championship with a semifinal run in Minor 4 and a bronze medal from Major 4. The big question now is whether they can take a step forward and truly challenge the top dogs.
The same question can be asked about FaZe Vegas, who’ve been living in OpTic’s and LA Thieves’ shadow this season. As one of the most stacked rosters in the league, FaZe have won just Major 2; however, they’ve not placed worse than top-four for the rest of the season – outside their fifth-place finish in Major 4 qualifiers.
The potential is there, but much like Paris Gentle Mates, FaZe Vegas have a lot more to prove.
