Team Vitality have had a rough stretch of results since May, having failed to reach their old heights. Things started to look up last month, when Team Vitality reached the semifinals of BLAST Open Fall, eventually losing to MOUZ, and finishing the event in third-fourth place.
It marked their best tournament run since winning BLAST Rivals Spring, and possibly a sign of good things to come. While it is unclear whether Vitality have found their traction, they performed well in the first round of StarLadder StarSeries Fall, beating magic 2-0, with 13-6 on Mirage and 13-9 on Dust II.
Beating magic in itself is not a major accomplishment. On the other side, it is hard to find any flaws with Vitality’s performance on the day.
Mezii, who returned to action after a long hiatus, has had a shaky showing, averaging a 0.93 performance rating, but now that he has shaken off the rust, the Brit will be expected to show more.

FURIA have been very shaky over the last few months. Even though they’ve been showing some signs of life, FURIA have been very underwhelming relative to the high expectations.
In the last two tournaments, including BLAST Open Fall and FISSURE Playground #3, FURIA placed fifth-sixth. Over that stretch, FURIA have played eight games and won four – against paiN Gaming, M80, GamerLegion, and PARIVISION.
On the other hand, they were far less successful against top-rated teams, including Team Spirit, Team Vitality, Legacy, and G2 Esports.
Things did not look notably better in the first round of StarLadder StarSeries Fall, when FURIA needed a reverse-sweep to make it past MIBR. Results like that indicate that FURIA only do well against lower-rated teams.
