Arsenal vs Everton Preview

Arsenal are on a solid winning run at the Emirates and the Gunners have started to concede more goals recently. Everton often find the net and a home win with over 2.5 goals is the best bet.

Arsenal on a 5 Match Winning Streak

  • Arsenal have won their last 5 home games.
  • Arsenal have seen over 2.5 goals in 3 consecutive home matches.
  • Everton have seen BTTS in 3 consecutive away games.

H2H - Gunners Dominate

Arsenal have a 113-65 advantage against Everton, alongside 48 draws.

Arsenal Winning and Conceding

Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are in hard-to-beat form and haven’t lost in their last 12 games. The Gunners have won five consecutive home matches in that run and scored 13 goals.

Arsenal have struggled for clean sheets recently and have seen BTTS in five of their previous six matches. The North Londoners beat Chelsea 2-1 in their most recent home game and had 1.09-1.07 XG.

Arteta’s side won four matches in a row before a 1-1 Champions League draw at Bayer Leverkusen. Arsenal had 1.64 XG, conceded first and Kai Havertz scored an 89th-minute penalty.

Everton Score a Lot

Everton have been high-scoring in recent matches and the Toffees have seen BTTS in five of their last seven.

The Merseyside team were unbeaten in six consecutive games before a 2-1 home loss to Bournemouth. David Moyes’ side followed that result with a 1-0 home defeat against Man United.

The Toffees hit back with a 3-2 victory at Newcastle and had 2.13 XG and five shots on target.

Everton secured back-to-back wins for the first time since December after beating Burnley 2-0 at the Hill Dickinson Stadium. James Tarkowski and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall scored either side of half time and Everton had 1.3 XG.

Predicted Starting Lineups & Team News

Arsenal (4-2-3-1): David Raya; Jurrien Timber, William Saliba, Gabriel, Piero Hincapie; Martin Zubimendi, Declan Rice; Bukayo Saka, Eberechi Eze, Gabriel Martinelli; Viktor Gyokeres

Midfield pair Mikel Merino and Martin Odegaard are ruled out of the Everton game due to injury.

Leandro Trossard could make the squad for the Everton game after missing out against Leverkusen. Mikel Arteta was hopeful over the winger’s fitness following a knock and said, "Yes, he trained yesterday, but he wasn't comfortable to play," Arteta said.

"He said he was still feeling something. You need at this level to play 100% and he wasn't."

Everton (4-2-3-1): Jordan Pickford; Jake O'Brien, James Tarkowski, Jarrad Branthwaite, Vitali Mykolenko; Idrissa Gueye, James Garner; Dwight McNeil, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Iliman Ndiaye; Thierno Barry

Winger Jack Grealish is unavailable with a broken foot and midfielder Carlos Alcaraz is also injured.

Seamus Coleman is likely to return to the squad after missing the Burnley game. David Moyes was confident the defender would return for Arsenal and said, “Seamus Coleman picked up a little bit of a knock – but not serious – on Friday, so he missed out at the weekend.

“He won’t be available for this game, but we’re hoping he won’t be too long.”

Verdict

Arsenal will be eager to keep their winning momentum at home and can beat Everton in the Premier League. Both sides have been high-scoring and it’s worth backing the Gunners to win and over 2.5 goals.
